Android 2.3.4 goodies ported to Xperia X10

Xperia X10 Android 2.3.4Sony Ericsson has started to release the Android 2.3.4 update for its 2011 range of Xperia handsets. If you want to know exactly what this includes, we did a comprehensive feature roundup here. As Xperia X10 owners are unlikely to see any more updates past Android 2.3.3, people have been trying to port the new features, apps and widgets over to the X10.

Thankfully most work quite easily on a stock Xperia X10 running Android 2.3.3. We already provided the new Power Save app and Timer & Clock widgets that all work on the X10. However, if you want a more complete Android 2.3.4 experience, then check out this xda thread. Files are provided which includes support for Facebook inside Xperia 2.0, the new music player with extensions, home launcher and keyboard (including swipe text input). There’s certainly enough there to keep stock Xperia X10 owners happy for a while!

  5. can anyone explain how to install this update or what, do i have to root phone first….please i’m new to this…:)

  7. They are not really ported, just forced to work in X10i. Luckily some of them can be installed just like a regular app and work just fine.
    I’m not comfortable to hacking the bootloader in order to root my X10i so that all the apps in package can be inserted in its system.

  8. I just got my x10 mini. Is the update for all xperia?? Despretly need update. Do you have to root it or whatever? What does it mean to root your phone? Does it harm your phone?

  9. I installed fine on my rooted X10…but I uninstalled them as I have other apps that do the battery saver…the timer widget was cool though…dont use them though

  11. sony such an idiots. they need to do like apple. to publish new updates to phone cuz every virison gotta bugs.. and i got weird message on x10. he say YOU GOTTA SOFTWARE PHONE UPDATE” they my mobile company dont allow it then i check on sony soft nothing.

  15. HELLO WHO CAN HELP ME MY X10 IS RESETTING ALL THE TIME AND IF I DO NOT KNOW AND BATTERY OR CELL HELP ME? I was with [ROM] Wolf Xperia Gingerbread TW 2.3.3 + V6 Gamer Rom (update 2/10/11) i started getting Reveta reset itself to 2.1 but still the same thing

    just when I got android 2.1 it took 1 minute off? When it binds outraa & I boot the usb cable it hangs on and off?

  20. As an owner of an Xperia X10, I would love an android update, but think about it. Sony is bringing out new equipment all the time, and have a need to both sell it, and maintain the newer equipment. If you made a product, would you want to maintain the old, or sell the new product?

  21. i have xperia x 10 it has 2.1 software and i am trying to update it but it is not updating it is showing that you have updated version but as u know the updated versions are 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 now please tell me how can i update my phone…..
