automatic updating.

My X10 will not automatically update facebook or twitter.I have to delete those annoying error symbols by dragging down the bar and pressing clear every 15 mins. Passwords are fine as I can access the programmes manually. This is even the case over wifi as well as 3g. Email is the only programme that automatically downloads. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks.
