Unable to log into Gmail account on xperia X10

Postby ashrithurs » Fri Sep 09, 2011 7:16 am

Hi All,

I am not able to log in to the inbuilt Gmail application in my Xperia X10. As I try to configure my gmail account it accepts my username and passwords and a black screen will appear with the message saying that 'Your Email will appear shortly" and my email will never appear and hence I also not able to use google talk application on my phone.

Could anybody help me out on this? please....

I also tried by resetting my factory settings but the same problem persists how can I solve this problem.

I had a similar problem when I tried to create a Google account to use the android market. I would enter my new gmail address and password to use the market. The phone would try to connect for a few minutes then give me an error saying that there was no network to connect to or my phone couldn’t use data. (I think, I really can’t remember exactly.) The solution that worked for me was to create a youtube account attached to my gmail account. On my phone I used the youtube application on the phone to log into my gmail account. The phone logged in to the account and then I went to the market app and was able to log in with the gmail account to use the android market to get the MeContacts app. (Which, of course, I now can’t get to work.)

I hope that this works for you. I searched the internet for several days about getting my phone to recognize my gmail and got bunches of ideas. Everything from this youtube fix to resetting your phone to factory settings to selecting ‘auto sync’ (settings-accounts& sync-auto-sync tick on). This seems to be a common problem but I never found a guaranteed-to-work universal fix.
