same problem but i think its because the manual on sd is for the 1.6, as there is a new manual on the se website which you can access through the user guide app anyway i believe the problem the app is looking for a different filename on sd so old manual is still there just not accessible through user guide app. on a unrelated note anyone notice the face recognition service eating up the cpu at random times causing huge lag

Yes thats why I need mentioned it before. I shut it off frequently. Haven't even used it once.

Hi,

What happend with the default keyboard ?
Where are now "<" and ">" buttons ?
When typing a text, I've used them to go back and forth to make corrections, I can't just go right there by tapping with finger.
Also "_" it's hidden under two keypress instead of one how it was before.
Can I do something to bring back < and > buttons and also quicker access to _ ?

I'm not 100% sure, but try settings, language + keyboard, input method, android keyboard. I believe that is the keyboard from 1.6.
I prefer how easy corrections are in new default keyboard, but Swype is best.

after 2.1 update on x10 mini, I'm not able to index my files on sd card. so music player and video player don't update their list of files . this is the biggest problem for me since I don't know how to work around to solve the problem.

You have to remember that this was just the 2.1 update, if not my memory is totally wrong SE said that this update should be followed by a second update whit fixes and maybe a new UI for Timescape/Mediascap. ??

I regret this upgrade.. My once working phone is now so irritating i am having difficulty not smashing it to pieces.

To cut to the chase - everything is less functional. Keyboard is retarded - no arrow keys and ? hidden, sensativity and sweetpoints all messed up. Less apps run, hardly any internet functions work - what was the point of this? Anyone?

Before You get all 'calibrate Your keyboard' and 'check your settings' - Done that, all i want now is to go back to 1.6.

I'll add to this: Lag Lag Lag, irritating unlock, random Forecloses on things like Market (ffs) long hands on anything involving mobile internet, failure to accept remote settings, impossible to play music, look at a clip of video i recorded on the phone (or a blurry photo it took) without 10 minutes of swiping, random apps starting and just total chaos.

I have seen some stupid mistakes in my time, but this release takes the biscuit. seriously, did nobody test this at SE before deploying it?

Head straight to the service center and bring this list of your complains. They should be able to help you out

i would suggest giving it some time. it might still be building the cache.

there isn't a need for arrows when you can swipe around on the edit bar. better than arrows imo. but i use swype.
and MORE apps are able to run, not less.
ALL internet functions work for me. elaborate?

are you on x10 or mini?

also, here's a very friendly and helpful advice. if android is too difficult, try an alternative OS.
furthermore, you really gotta consider your choice of words if only you, out of so many x10 owners, are facing so many problems. i.e. i don't think it's SE's fault.

The only problem I've found so far (and it's VERY annoying) is that whenever I'm typing, be it on browser or text, no matter what word I try and type every now and again it gets replaced by the name of one of my contacts when I press space rather than the completed word.

For example, on the old version I would try and type 'because' and all I'd need to type would be 'beca' and the phone would either insert the word or it'd be there for me to choose. Now if I type that I could end up with 'Dad' 'Phil' 'Home' anything. I sent a text that read 'Just txt home and tell home about 6' rather than saying him

The single biggest problem I have is still battery. Went down 52% inside of 2 hours and all I did was about 6 emails, 3 calls and ten min of facebook. Face recog was turned off and so was timescape. All extra apps were killed. It's a really good thing I have both a spare battery and a car charger. Thinking about buying high capacity battery and door I saw advertised for about $20.

Check your Task Manager.

I had a lot of problems with Advanced Task Killer Pro. Since i have changed to Advanced Task Manager my phone is 60% faster and lasts for 2 days with plenty of wifi, messages, talking, etc.
