It´s now 1 week since I have the 2.1 installed on my X10a. In general I like it, it has many useful features and the handling is better than before.

I also have a few issues that I find extremely annoying.

The phone displays contact pictures only blurry, even the original pictures are really good.
It did not happen with Android 1.6

MediaScape created an own "friend folder" that I can´t delete, in this folder the phone connects random facebook people with existing album pictures. It only disappears when I delete this contact pictures. What can I do?

The battery life got worse, it was not good before, but now it´s a nightmare.
I already installed Advanced Task Killer and set it on the highest levels according to the Developer page advices. Still not good, don´t get through the day with my X10. I have it on for 8 hours and it´s only 25% left. Normal use, nothing that exceeds the standard use of a phone. I was hoping for a better performance.

Maybe you have the same experiences or you know a solution.

It´s a benefit for every Forum to have intelligent people here with so genius answers.

Besides of the fact that I know what an X10 is - I have compared the X10 to other smart phones, my wife´s got an IPhone and my friend an Acer.
But even this is not the point. The point is that the battery life got worse after upgrading to 2.1 compared to 1.6

It's called sarcasm dude, roll with it!
There are things you can do to improve battery performance including manually turning off WiFi, BT and 3g when not in use. Then there are apps you can install from the market like Juice Defender and Set CPU and then there's something like MinFree or AutoKiller Memory Optimizer. The last two are not task killers but memory optimizers and tweek the os memory management, they do need setting correctly though so if you want to try them I'll give you the settings.
Hope this is some help but I will also add maybe the X10 just ain't for you and an iPhone would suite your needs more, personally I love my X10 and I put up with the poor battery performance.

I concur. I got two extra batteries and a wall charger cheap off ebay. My gf and I each have one and I still have almost 33 months remaining in our contract. I'm just going to have to figure it out and that'd be why I started this thread. Plenty of good advice here. Thank you to all who contribute positive suggestions.

Why would you make such a statement ? Because I have 3 issues that I would like to get resolved?
I don´t get it.

Ok, I might end up buying an extra battery from Mugen Power to solve this.

Blurry pictures is common issue posted by many. Next fix update will probably adress this but unknown actually. I have no clue about friends folder. I dont actually use timescape, but I assume maybe these are folks you interact with on facebook or twitter and the u.i. is just keeping you up to date with them? Keep trolling the forums and blogs and you may find other clues to fix. Good luck.

Since i updated to 2.1 nordic i connect via H /hsdpa/, but i was using 3g before that.
Any ideas. Also there is no fu**ing exit button in the browser.
Also it always zooms out when going to another page.

Firstly HSDPA is faster than 3g, it's like 3.5g.
The browser, either use another like Dolphin, Skyfire or xScope or get Quick Exit from the AM.
Check the settings of the browser our just double tap the screen to zoom in.

I know how to zoom, but it is very annoying. Why it doesn't do it automatically like before.
And also how come i get hsdpa after the update, but before that i didn't?
1.6 also supports HSDPA.

Sorry I thought you were asking for help, to stop the browser zooming out as you say go to the browser settings and uncheck the box next to "Open pages in overview".
And yes I believe 1.6 did support HSDPA but never told you when it was using HSDPA and now it does!

Btw with 1,6 there were a couple of times when the hsdpa icon showed instead of 3g, but just for a second or so.
Pretty strange. I think to try with mi kit and see if it will show 3g not h.
Btw can i change the kit using root to change the kit version and than repair?

Did you flash the nordic sw to get 2.1 early? I'm not sure how to replace the the files to reflash with your local region sw, that's why I waited for the UK release of 2.1 so check XDA for more help/info on that.

Issues, contact syncing. I used the power of 1.6 to upload all my bb contacts to gmail. Organised all the phone contacts into a folder called android. Ensured that all the mobile numbers were under mobile, all the landlords were under home or work so that sms went to the right people.
Then synced the phone with the android folder and then ill never lose a number again!
2.1 only allows me to sync ALL my gmail contacts, over 2500 of them, or to use the onboard memory. I liked the idea that if I lose my phone, I lose my pictures (not so bad, if I g somewhere nice I take a camera) and my applicstions... Ho hum an irritation. But to lose my numbers... Sacrilege!
Major FAIL
Battery life... I use are launcher and the live wallpaper only works on the lock screen for 15s, so have that turned off... I still have to charge twice s day, and although this is a "smartphone"of I had been caught on the m25 over the past couple of days, id be out of power.
The new flashy message system... Is pretty. But the slowness on opening had made me find an alternative program chompsms... Which if I wanted an iphone, is have bought one!
With my 2500 list of contacts I use the side letters to quickly skip through the contacts... Lad, lag, lag... And the letter will stick when you release the key until you touch the screen again, lose your place and start again.the contacts photos being it to a crawl
On a positive. Attributes now works without having to task kill it to start it again.
