Can't update to 2.1 (yes I've read the README post!)

I'm having a problem trying to update my X10 Mini Pro from 1.6 to 2.1.

It does the first part ok, but when it gets to the bit where you're supposed to hold down the 'Back' key while plugging in the USB cable the grand total of nothing happens.

I've tried it a couple of times and I'm definitely following the instructions (it's not hard... it says hold the 'Back' button and insert the cable - even I can manage that) yet it just doesn't work.

Can anyone else shed any light on this or suggest another method of updating please?
