hi all. i am in australia on vodafone network and i am still stuck with R1FA014 firmware. one of the girls at work bought a x10 from vodafone and has 024 firmware. is there a way to copy the firmware off her phone and onto mine? is there any other vodafone users in oz that have been able to update from 014?
have you tried connecting your phone to your pc running SE Update service and searching for a update? your friends vodafone handset (x10i im assuming?) running 024 firmware is proof there will be an update available for yours. Im with Telstra here in Aus and ive got the latest from what telstra has to offer which is still Android v1.6 but with 023 firmware. But i have a x10a handset cause telstra nextG runs on different bands to vodafone network. If all fails you can always de-brand your handset from vodafone and flash it with generic 026 firmware. And you will get future updates sooner without having to wait for vodafone to tinker with updates before releasing to branded handsets. Hope this helps.
Use juicedefender to improve battery. None of the updates have done anything to improve battery life on my phone, but with juicedefender I set the Schedule on enable data/wifi for 2m every 30m at least and it doubled my battery life (about 36h with frequently use).
