Froyo beta 1 by Zdzihu of XDA

Okay so I did it and I'm really impressed so far, a new hotfix 4 has enabled native Froyo app2sd which is great.
Yes I have had a few reboots and no the camera is still not working hey the guy is still a certified genious IMO.
Also has a few problems with the 3D gallery, some cache problems but it's working now.

I did this successfully (!) yesterday and after a reboot or two, I managed to get the Google Apps on and downloaded all my apps (thanks to AStro Backup). It ran brilliantly and flawlessly for a while. A few reboots throughout the day while I was playing, but I thought that would calm down....then one final reboot and the phone hasn't started since!

Battery has been out all night to let it 'cool down' - still no start.
Been on charge all morning - no LED (although sometimes the green one would come on when I plug the charger in, but only for a few minutes, then off again) - but definitely no switch on.

While it is plugged in, I get nothing at all when I press the power button. No LED, No vibrate, no lights anywhere - nothing!
If I take the battery out and put it back in again and then press the power button, I get a quick flicker of a green LED, and a short vibrate (as though it was going to switch on), but no lights, and no power. It does nothing.

It's almost like its only teh screen that's gone - but that can't be it as the LED would work when it is plugged in, surely?

Also, a few times, I got teh LED to flash three times when pressing teh power button. this happened on a few occasions, but I haven't been able to replicate this.

Any help?

@Syanide, those post on XDA must have been yours then! Did wonder if it was you when I read them, haven't read the thread lately so has no one shed any light on it?

My suggestion would be a reflash using one of the flash tools on XDA, apparently it can flash a bricked phone. Rkanwar, a user on here used it I believe when he bricked his phone trying to install Z's .0.24 fw.
Don't mean to concern you further but it doesn't sound good mate, could be terminal?
Thankfully the X10 is quite hard to brick but that doesn't really help you, having said that it's what makes me think it could be serious; the fact it doesn't even hang on the SE logo and the fact it was so sudden. Have you tried to get it into flash mode?

@Caifan, appart from Sy's little problem, the camera not working and the occassional reboot I've not had to many priblems and it appears quite stable. Been using it since 7am this morning so that's 12 hrs plus and I think I've had 5 or 6 reboots and 3 of those were transfering some of my apps to the sd card.
Appart from the problems I posted above the only other issues I've had is Extended Controls kept force closing but I had reinstalled it via Titanium Back Up ( SE2.1) so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the market and no more problems.
The worse thing for me is no Swype, don't know why but it's installed but won't show up in the Keyboard options in settings? Also tried the HTC IME keyboard and that won't work either, it shows up in settings but is unrespondable once selected by select input. I don't like the android native keyboard and that's all I've got at the moment, going to have to try another soon.

It's impressing more and more, even silly little things which I'm not sure if are Froyo things or just things SE took out or hid in their 2.1 OS. Any I'm not saying there aren't any issues with it but it is SO much better than SE 2.1!
It reboots when you ask too much of it, it's not CPU related as I'm using SeePU monitor so it must be that the software isn't completely stable but then it is in beta.

yes mate, it was me. I tried to keep track of the replies, but there are just too many to fit in with a full time job!

Now, I get three red flashes when i press power on (when not plugged in) and intermittent red light while it is plugged in. I suspect teh battery has died on me to be honest. I just hope it is bricked - that way when i send it back under warranty, they can't tell I've been messing!

Red light just flashing away as we speak....

When you installed Froyo did you do a full wipe including battery stats? If not it probably is the battery.
And did you look into the Flash Tool, might be able to restore the phone and if you want to install Froyo again fw 0.24 is rootable now.
Just to update my post above, just installed HTC IME 2.2 and it works great. Much better than the default android keyboard.

when something Lik SY's problem happens... can you just repair it via SEUS??

I don't think you can if the phone won't boot at least up to the white SE logo, then it'll hang.
As I said to Sy I believe there is a Flash Tool on XDA that will flash a phone with no power but it all depends on what the problem is.

Looks interesting and impresive... but I believe I have to wait until it is stable since this is my primary work/home phone, I don't want to end up without a phone

One big thumbs up to XDA guys since SE didn't want to support this phone anymore, but those XDA guys cannot stop supporting this one

This my main phone also, just have to take a risk sometimes.
Bin4ry posted on the Froyo thread today, he's coded dual touch from the SE source code but we'll just have to see if Z can incorpatate it into his Froyo ROM. I have faith in him especially after managing to enable native Froyo app2sd.
Impressive stuff from XDA and one in the eye for SE, this has really put them to shame.

owh.... okie i thot it would just be solved by flashing it via SEUS given the fact that you wouldn't need to turn on when you flash it with SEUS...hehehe

The phone still needs power to go into flash mode, hence the solid green LED.

owwh.... thanks!!! i dont have that problem though... i decided to repair my pre rooted (Z) x10 to the original by SE since it can already be rooted... but i didnt root it coz im still satisfied with it's performance... heheh waiting for the 2.1.a.0.390 though... hehe hope it wont be long... hehe m still satisfied with my xperiax10 and what SE has done with it IMO.. but yet. it's unfair not to be supported as they promised to support us...tsk. and BTW i just use timescape for facebook status update coz of the logo. and sometimes to show off to friends.. and NEVER use mediascape coz of it's BOORING and slow performance... soo SE could've just dissed those two... tsk..haha thanks for answering jayj..
