Manual Update to Stock 2.3.3 for my rogers branded x10i

Hi guys,

I am on rogers here in Canada, and we did not receive the 2.3 update for my branded x10i through the sony companion software.

I wanted to manually update to 2.3 and also root it, and was wondering if I can do that.

Can i just download the Generic version 2.3.3 build 3.0.1.G.0.75 from:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746

(which says its meant for unbranded x10i's) and use it on my branded x10i from rogers and follow the instructions to root and install? Would it work? Or what are the procedures?

I ultimately want stock 2.3 rooted for my phone.

I flashed my Rogers branded X10a to the 2.3.3 found linked in xda thread a few weeks ago. My phone is now considered to be an X10i and works great and charges faster too
As for rooting, there are many posts about how to do that. There are also pre rooted roms I gave read about too. Good luck.
