READ ME for Android 2.1 update

There is a huge number of pointless threads, asking if firmwares are released for that particular country. We have been saying the same thing over and over. People use the search (properly).

I face problems while updating from android 1.6 to 2.1, the step were we have to unplug the USB and holding the button.....there it alwaya stops and updating doesn't takes place.....please can someone tell me some other method to update my phone???????

I'm sick of "1.6"

Hi, the system tab (in settings menu) info in my Xperia X10 (set purchased in X10 when it was launched first) is showing upgrade available to Android 2.3.X and asks me to do so via PC Companion. When i access phone via PC Companion it also show handset is ready for 2.3.X upgrade...when i follow the steps the final step before the upgrade does not seem to activate (the "NEXT" button is always grey - meaning cannot click on it to process the upgrade).

Any help or clue as to what is happening...?

I'm having the same problem that siddhantsaini was having...that is when it gets to the bit where you're supposed to hold down the 'Back' key while plugging in the USB cable the grand total of nothing happens.

I've tried it a couple of times and I'm definitely following the instructions (it's not hard... it says hold the 'Back' button and insert the cable - even I can manage that) yet it just doesn't work.

Can anyone else shed any light on this please?
