UK GENERIC UPDATE AVAILABLE

Postby syanide » Tue Jun 29, 2010 2:12 pm

I have an unbranded X10 in teh UK (originally with t-mobile, but that doesn't make a difference now that it's unbranded) and "About Phone" is showing an update. I'm downloading now....

WIll let you know how I get on.

I can confirm it is.

I never even backed up my phone or anything, just did it all through the air. Luckily, my phone is as it was before th update - ie, all teh apps are tehre, all my messages are there - nothign lost/wiped...Just a shiny new firmware! Definitely R2BA020!!

Happy Days...

yup got it, defo an improvement in response and speed, will be a day or two before i can comment on battery, call volume seems unchanged, got the backup app, seems to have changed the way phonebook operates also, when pressing the desired name to call it now brings up the dialler screen with the required number, pretty much same as was mentioned in the blog about the telenor update, i dont use timescape so cant comment on the but its a definate improvement even if the call volume still sux..........

I have received the update in Germany with generic UK version programmed via the XDA instructions. Seems there are no restrictions on Geo-IP for updating.

Update was performed via wireless LAN connection without using SEUS!

First impressions, can't say I've noticed any speed improvement, but there seems to be a pretty serious bug that keeps asking me for the PIN code! Not sure what's going on there, but I really hope SE fix it quicker than they took to release this update!

Hey X10, sorry for the delay in getting back to you about uploading the file. I was away from my computer and wouldn't know how to do it without reading up on it first - and I've only just got home. So, sorry mate.

I'm sure someone's shared now!

Just a genreal observation guys....

I've only had the phone unplugged for about 7 hours, but under battery Inofration, I have noticed that now, "Phone Idle" and "Cell Standby" are now showing at 13% and 19% respectively. Before, they would both be around the 45% mark, so this has got to make a difference to the battery life.....will keep you posted.

Ok, phone has been unplugged for over 20 hours now and still "cell info" and "phone idle" are showing to be in their 20's. Over night was an improvement, too. I think I must have only lost a couple of %.

I haven't charged my phone since Tuesday evening when I did the update and its still at 93% with data switched off, a couple of short calls and bluetooth enabled while I'm driving (about 40mins total/day). Previously I would be down to about 40% battery by now with the same usage, so its definitely an improvement from my perspective.

I haven't really notices any general performance improvements, although the camera performance is significantly improved. Starts up much quicker and while running is also much more responsive to inputs etc.
