You can put the latest Android firmware. Put apps in the memory card, custom ROMs and so on. I really want to konw if the X10 really have multitouch.

Check out our post on it here. It basically opens up your handset, so that we'll be able to install custom Android 2.1 ROMs now (rather than waiting). Sames goes for Android 2.2 when it becomes available.

While that sounds good, does that mean we install the custom ROM the SE signature applications like Timescape, Mediascape will be gone? If yes, Any way to keep them while doing this?

Not entirely sure to be honest. Hopefully you could still install the Timescape/Mediascape apk's somehow.

Where has the xda-developers thread gone? - All I get is a "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" message.

Lol. Fake root eh?

Just a question, sayyou were able to root your phone but want to go back to the original SE firmware. How do you do it? Is it easy? Or there's no way to go back?
