New Xperia X10 user saying hello and needs help

Hello guys, I got my phone yesturday and I love it!

It's already running the 2.1 update

It replaced my old ZTE Blade was fully un-rooted running android 2.3.4 and it was a very fast phone.

This X10 is just as fast but I get the feeling it's being held back by Android 2.1 that it's running.

Anyway I have a few questions.

1. Mines an X10i, What's the difference between this and the X10a and other variants?
2. I looked high and low for what I regard as a reliable place to unlock the phone so I can use my SIM, Phone is currently locked to o2 UK and I use 3 UK. What's the best and easyest way to unlock it?
3. I noticed there's an official 2.3 update for the phone but I can't find it when looking for it on the update software provided by Sony?

Gonna try to gove u some answers. X10a is a locked model i believe. Will only work on some of the providers. I believe only american not sure tho!

Second of all about sim unlocking i dont know anything. There is a way tho. Try searching the xdadevelopers forum for that!

Third, there is an update for 2.3 but only generic kits get the update. So first try to updste with seus, sony ericsson updste service. Google it or go to sony site. Or flash an generic 2.1 and ull get the update for sure. update tutorials also on xdadevopers!
There is also an pre rooted 2.3 on xda, they havent got a tool yet for rooting 2.3 since it just been out for a few days!
