First check your region and brand by going into the Test Menu (from slide lock screen press: menu, back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back) and going to Service info > Model info.[/quote]
1-
Goto http://www.omnius-server.com/ and register an account there. Now from download tab download Omnius. It’s totally free.
2-
Download UK Generic firmware http://hotfile.com/dl/51439377/ad7d58d/i_R1FA16_omn.rar.html.
Alternate thread for firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793
3-
Download and install Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS) from http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=pk&lc=en
4-
Run SEUS , follow on screen instructions. When it asks to connect your mobile, do so by turning off and plugging in the cable while Back button is pressed.
5-
After doing so SEMC drivers will be installed on your PC. That’s what we installed SEUS for. Now disconnect cable from your X10 but not from CPU as changing USB ports may lead to problems during debrand.
6-
Now extract Omnius file you downloaded in step 1.Run Omnius_se.exe. You will have the following screen.
7-
In settings tab select server settings and enter your username and password you used to sign up at http://www.omnius-server.com/ and hit save changes.
8-
Extract the file (Firmware) you downloaded to a place you can find it. There should be two zip files. DON'T unzip them.
Make sure you are connected to Internet.
Now select your phone (e.g. X10i) and select Flash tab.
9-
Under Application, select the larger zip file you extracted (R7A_R1FA016_FSP_X10i_CUST_UK_GENERIC_1235_7379_S1_SW_LIVE_AC12_0001_S1_PARTITION_WITH_SPARE.zip).
Under Customization, select the smaller file (R1FA016_APP_SW_RACHAEL_GENERIC_1227_4612_S1_SW_LIVE_AC12_0001_S1_PARTITION.zip).
Following screen will appear.
10-
Follow the on screen instructions. Connect the phone in Flash mode (power off, hold Back while plugging in the USB cable). Flash will continue. It will take a while so don’t get upset. After successful flashing it will ask you to remove cable, remove and reinsert the battery.
Turn your phone on. This will also take some time. Congrats you have dabranded your X10.
