I am having problem flashing phone with Omnius. During flashing process, Omnius fails to connect to server. Although my user name and password are working as i can log in omnius easily on the web. What could be the problem??

it says
Country: Generic LAM (b)
Brand: Customized

I don't think this FW will upgrade

One thing I have noticed is that the 2 files for flashing with Omnius must be zipped (or .rar) and most of these firmware come into a rar file but the 2 files inside are not rared or zipped and they don't flash (the link from this page are all like that, the x10i also was and upgraded OTA, not with SEUS).

yes exactly the same problem i had. the files werent .zip so omnius wouldnt recognize it when i tried to browse. and if you press show all file type and then do it during flash it will say corrup zip file and your phone will brick. i also tried using winzip to make the file .zip which also broke phone. any suggestions or links to where i can get 026 generic firmware with zip files?
thanks

make sure before connecting phone you have entered your username and password in the field under settings tab.

Edit: I'm quite sure you have missed the step number 7 from my guide. Follow the guide step by step and you'll be fine as I've tested it myself.

Okay. forget the link I've given to markogin as it is for different type of debranding. Seems like there are only two generic firmware available for X10a, Latin American or Argentinian. If you have X10a and flash your set with any of these two you will be able to update via SEUS when the update 2.1 will be available but that will definitely be after sometime after release in UK.
If it says customized then you are debranded just make sure you do not mix X10a with X10i if you want proper updates via SEUS.

It happed to me also one time. There was a message saying that my account was suspended for sharing...for whatever that means but it also would say a time when it would be available again and it was in few hours from when I tried to flash

OK, but I guess you can update OTA (not SEUS) on a future 2.1 even if you have an X10i FW on a X10a handset....right? That what my phone did when I tried the generic X10i on my X10a

Yes OTA is possible but SEUS checks the device ID which can't be altered even with X10i Firmware. You may get X10i OTA for 2.1 but it seems difficult because it is a big update and might require complete flashing of set via SEUS. Let see what happens! September is about to begin...

Mmm, I'm not site about that. Yes we had a fw update recently that required SEUS or PCC but 2 of my friends who have HTC's (Desire & Hero) updated OTA from 1.6 to 2.1?

Well, in the end the 2.1 (hopefully 2.2 with wi-fi tethering) will be probably available as a flash option so we might not even need SEUS. :-)

You won't find it in the market as it's still in beta, I found the link on XDA as the first version I had did not fit the X10's screen when in landscape.
I honestly not sure of the link but if you want it PM me.

Swype is out of beta phase. It is not available to download for end user because it is currently available only for OEMs like Galaxy S I9000 has built in swype in it. I'm also using skype on my X10. For X10 you need FWVGA version that works perfect in landscape mode.
