Thank you, works well.

Also just for the sake of it.....I had a Nexus one with 2.1 for few months. What is the big deal of 2.1 vs 1.6? Besides the live wall paper and more home screens I didn't see anything relevant. What I would like is the native tethering that 2.2 has.

Hello,
I'm a newbie so could someone explain in plain terms what may sound stupid questions to you?
I just bought for a friend of mine an Xperia X10 off eBay. Phone is locked to Orange UK. I still haven't got it (it's in the post), but once I get it I need to unlock it in order to use it in Bulgaria. My questions - would it be possible to debrand it myself with Omnius if I buy credits? On the Omnius page it still does not list Xperia X10 as a supported phone.
And the other question - would it be just unlocking or it will replace the phone's software; i.e. would it be able to act as a normal phone and update itself when updates are available, or once I change it initially my friend would need to look for updates himself and do manual updates?
Thanks!

You cannot unlock it with Omnius, you can only de-brand it with that software. To unlock it you can try to get an unlocking code through on-line services or if the carrier that the phone is locked to does not allow unlocking of the phone you can buy a software unlock. That will only unlock the phone. To replace the phone software you will need the Omnius system. Once you have installed SEUS (sony ericsson update service) into your computer you will be able to update the software with the future releases. You will probably need to check for updates manually on the computer.
Hope this helps.

this guide is functional but you cant use omnius free of cost anymore, you have to buy credit from their site for 1,2 or more days to make omnius work. If you willing to spend some $$$$$ then just select mini pro instead of simple X10 from list and with appropriate firmware for x10 mini pro (not the firmware I've linked here because it is for X10) you can debrand your set

I live in the sates, bought a AT&T branded X10 , Model Nr. X10a, Firmware version 1.6, Baseband version 1.1.32, Build nr. R2CA016
ok, so I try to follow this tutorial, in my folder "13740270" I go to blob_fs and the largest files I can find are 10kb only.
I don´t know what to replace.

Can someone please help me and tell me the right steps to debrand theis phone and to upgrade it to the latest version ?
thank you so much for your support,
Dan
