I just went looking on the net for 2.1 update....again. Much to my surprise, the Xperia X10 is not on the list of products at all! X10 Mini & X10 Mini Pro are there, but no X10 WTF?
Anybody else had this happen? At the rate things have been with this product; I may go with HTC or Samsung next time I buy a new phone

That never happened to me. Were you able to get update?

you don't need to spam the update service software download. the software download is the same as the previous one. what you should be interested in, is the firmware version. in order for SEUS to check if you are indeed eligible for update, you MUST plug in your phone in flash mode, and it'll do all the checkie thingies and then let you know whether you're welcomed to the 2.1 club or not

Thanks Tookie. I have a 2 day weekend off coming for the first time since I got my X10. I will hunt around and feel free to point me some links if you have any. I will poke around, but I don't want to do repair thingy again because it makes me alost start over without any benefit at all really. Some things never work right again when I format and/or reinstall os on my pc.

don't need to. here's how: 1) start SEUS 2) follow the onscreen instructions 3) if there is an update for your phone, they will tell you so. if there isn't, then.. you have to wait. or rebrand to a region that already has the update
note that the version of SEUS does not reflect the firmware version.
to see if it's already released for your customer number, check the SE products blog page. i can't give you the link right now. a download is sucking my bandwidth and i can't load pages. i posted it before somewhere in the forums.

I have been watching all week. Everytime I connect, I get message my phone has latest software. My sales number is NOT on big list, so I continue to wait and feel more and more like 3rd world citizen left in dark by S.E. and Rogers here in Canada. Samsung and HTC are looking better all the time

Yeah, I noticed that froyo thing this morning. I love the phone, but now I'm jonesn' for multitouch amoled etc. One of the phones I saw has pop up speakers? So much to consider and how much time do I really want to spend tweaking my phone? You know it's kind of like the new Acura with 42 airbags...42? Seriously? Yup. You don't need them, don't want them, can't afford but want to check it out for the sake of satisfying curiosity. So many braggers and haters filling up forums etc that it takes forever to find the good posts that are useful. I don't have budget to pay full price for new hardware, so I may get refurb or used phone next spring/summer if money is good. I just hate re-installing apps, id tones etc.

root the device and use titanium backup. you can filter system, user apps, and backup according to filters. download it and play around with it. i love it

I'll second that, Titanium Back Up is a fantastic app and has saved me a while heap if hassle. Last three days I've bricked my phone twice and had to flash it with SEUS, rerooted and had to reinstall my apps. So if it wasn't for TBU I'd have lost everything.

First time was Tuesday night installing Chewitt's Dark10 Theme, not sure what went wrong but it got stuck on the Sony Ericsson boot screen so I had to reinstall and then Thursday night I tried messing with the font. Ended up with a phone in Japanese and I couldn't read a thing, I tried replacing the font folder I'd backed up and I rebooted the phone; bricked again! lol So glad I had TBU.

I just got off phone with Rogers Tech Support here in Canada. They released it and pulled it within minutes due to high traffic volumes wiping out the servers They are fixing issues and will release again Monday Nov. 15th Thank ****'n ***! for that! Soon I may be happy, but I still envy the 2 cam phones with full video chat, multitouch, amoled and better fps. My X10 will have to do at least another 10 months I think

Well, I'll be damned! IT WORKS! I had to Un-install my SEUS and delte the folder from program files to run the new one. It's updating right now and I'm sure to have happy posts soon!
