My phone keeps switching itself off

Hi, I've had my X10 a couple of months and it has developed an annoying problem - the phone keeps switching itself off. It's becoming more and more frequent (happens most days now) and is rendering the phone practically unusable. It usually happens when I'm on the net and often takes a few minutes of taking out the battery and resetting the phone several times before it's working normally again.

I did the Android update this evening which I thought would sort it but it has happened 3 times since then - when browsing the net, restoring backed up files and... changing the wallpaper(!?). Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do? Have had a look through the forum but couldn't see any similar problems mentioned.

Ive never had this problem but if it is still there after reinstalling the firmware it must be a hardware fault i would send it in for a repair!

Cheers, yeah it seems a bit better with the update but the problem is still persisting so going to take it into the Orange shop at the weekend.

Yeah if the problems still occurring after updating it can't be a software problem so it must be a hardware problem, as you said take it into the Orange shop if that's were you got it.
