Newbie with file path (folder location/name) question

Hi

I'm a new user of a X10 mini, bought for me by my partner. the phone was bought minus a SD CARD, and was locked down to orange, so I have had this unlocked.

I'm currently using my old T-mobile sim, with plans to move to gifgaf shortly taking the number I have with me.

M problems are this, I bought a 16 gig Sd card, Which I have formatted in the phone and is working fine, however after installing Sony Ericsons PC companion when I look in the file manager there is no folders? When I used the camera, this created a DCIM folder, and I have down loaded a few apps, and this has created a Media folder which inturn has a Audio folder in, which in turn has a Notifications folder.

What I'm trying to find out, is where I should create a folder for different types of media, ie movies files, music etc, and what is the file name (folder name) the phone looks for for those files. ie as yet I have not found a way of changing where the music player looks for the file list, so if anyone has a list of the default folders needed or how to change the path the application look for files?

Hope this makes sence, I'm currently working night, and I have had the SD card about 30 hours now, (ie delivered yesterday morning!) so I'm trying to sort my data correctly so I can add some music and media files next week when I am off.

Secondly

As this was a orange phone, but I'm not using there sim/service non of there apps work, However they seem to be unremovable? is there a way to remove these or an app which I can use to seek and destroy the ones that don't work and which are therefore pointless to have, and removing will give me space back to use again

Thanks in advance

Dave

You can create it anywhere on sd card and name it whatever you want. Phone finds and shows media files (music, videos, pictures) in any folder on sd card. Phone doesn't show media files only from folders that have .nomedia file in it.

You need to root your phone (you can find instructions how on forum and elsewhere on the net), and then you can use Titanium Backup (check Market) to uninstall any preinstalled apps. However I suggest that you first find list of apps which are safe to remove (again it can be found on the internet) so you don't screw anything up.
