I got my my x10 mini wet and now it's not working! I have dried the phone for over 24hrs. The only thing I can get out of it is the red light flashing when I press the power button or a slow flashing red light when I connect to power.......

Is this terminal!?!?!?

Thanks all

Jeff

If the phone don't responds on charging (wait a few min after start charging)
i guess you broke your phone, and a service place will only say that it wont be fixed...

bad luck!

A wet phone shouldn't be completely dead, fully dried it should work fine once re-charged.

Take out the SIM card and the memory card and put the phone in a bowl of uncooked rice for 24 hours (the rice draws out all the moisture), put back together and recharge.

rice may have dust that may damage ur phone...

u can get silica gel (those bags of tiny balls you can find in most camera lens cases) in any stationery store... its the best dehydrating agent n will remove every bit of moisture.

However i hope u have not tried recharging ur wet phone... that's terminal.

how wet did you get your phone?

you should have dried your phone, at least let it air, or what a previous poster said, put it in raw rice.
but definitely shouldn't have connected the power, or attempt to boot up the device. when you start, there is current, if there's water, it might short circuit.

you might want to bring it into a service centre, but don't lie about getting your phone wet tho. electronic devices have some water meter thingie that activates when it touches moisture. so... you if you lie, you'd be taking a risk.

good luck!

Hey guys/girls

I have had a bit of experience with wet devices (growing up watching my father service underwater camera's, very prone to leaks and working as a Technician in a national museum for 10 years)
in regard to any electrical device and water, the first and most important thing to do is remove the power/battery,(not so great on the X10mini, which is my only real complaint with the phone, just hope I never drop it in the drink)
Then.. try to open it up as much as possible (without voiding warranty) to air it out, I have heard people have had success with putting phones/digital camera's in a bowel of rice and even salt to extract remaining moisture, I always found an electric oven on a very low heat for a few hours (be smart there) or your hot water cupboard for a day or 2 works fine.

Power and short circuits are the big problem.. in pure fresh water the risk of frying boards isn't high unlike salt water.. as salt water is a better electrical conductor, (and with salt water you have the added fun of corrosion.. yay!! ) even so never plug a previously submersed device into a charger or even put the battery back in until you are positive there is no more moisture in there.

If your quick to react and its just fresh water then there is no reason for it not to work 100% again after drying.. salt water.. well you could try to wash it out straight away with fresh water to remove the salt water.. it sounds brutal but might just give you a better chance of saving your beloved.

I hope that helps someone..

Regards
Chris
