How to boot into Recovery with Xperia X10 Mini Pro?

Hey there,

I rooted my Mini Pro and prepared to install Apps2SD on it. However, before this process I have to partition the SD Card; and I'm doing this by starting in Recovery [Mode] and following some steps. My problem is getting into Recovery; do I need to start the phone by holding the Home button while holding the Power Button? I've tried this with no success, as well as holding in the camera, volume down and power buttons. This just starts up the phone as usual.

I'd really appreciate some help, thanks!

:D

True recovery does NOT exist (yet) for the Xperia family cause of the locked bootloader.
BUT, zdzihu has ported Cyanogen's recovery to X10 and the Mini/Pro as well.
you can read and learn more on this thread:
Xrecovery for the Mini
cheers!

and for the partitioning, i used this guide:
SD card Partitioning: How-to

Thanks man! Really I appreciate it when people take their time to help someone else ;) .
The only reason I did need to get into recovery mode was for the partitioning, so I'm glad you also added what you used to partition the drive!
Have a nice day, and an [early] Merry Christmas! :D

Sorry to go slightly off topic here but ozzy, I partitioned my sd card ready to add app2sd but haven't gotten around to it yet. I created an Ext2 of 1.4 GB and the rest FAT32, I know Titanium Back Up has an Ext2 gauge but it doesn't appear?

Do I need to do something in TBU to engage the gauge?

Do I need to have apps saved to the ext2 before it registers?

Or did I do something wrong when partitioning the sd?

Thanks!

I don't consider that off-topic. :D
And since I'm at the process of partitioning the card as we speak I'm more than happy if someone brings up possible obstacles or certain things I have to watch out for.

Thanks!

man i just saw this...sorry...
i'm no expert but my TBU shows this
Image
maybe it's w the TBU version?
i have 3.6.5 now, and it still shows the SD card (a2sd) part.
i think you gotta run the script first so your phone will recognize the ext2 part?
i really have no idea.

re the partitioning, the only mistake i ran into was to format the partition as Logical instead of Primary...
otherwise, it's pretty much a walk in the park.

@ozzy1212

I partitioned my SD card (and the phone is rooted) so I am ready to install A2SD. For the moment I can't find my charger but in the meantime I'm looking at guides to installing A2SD. There are just so many, many of which people say it bricked their phone, so I'm asking YOU, which guide did you use? :D

Cheers! -Tom

I found my charger!
I had already checked out that thread but a very high amount of people said it bricked their phone so I turned away from it. But since you insist I'll consider using it ;) .
One thing, should I wipe my phone before installing A2SD?

Cheers! :D

all you need is a working knowledge of adb (a working adb setup in your pc)
the correct format and partitioning
and some guts.

btw, that's one of the reasons i just went ahead and did it...bricked my phone messing w system files...
i repaired w SEUS and decided to whattheheck try app2sd...
and JiT...
and zipaligning...
well you get the picture... :D
there's tons of optimization guides from xda if you know where to look and if you're brave enough to risk it... :)
i suggest making a nandroid backup first before jumping into anything.
cheers!
