Contacts problem

Whilst looking at my contacts I switched to an uploaded listing. My contact promptly threw up a message saying "Sorry, the proces android. process acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." with an option to force close. Now, everytime I select contacts it puts the same message up, which prevents me actually entering my contacts pages . Because I can't enter my contacts, I can't back them up anywhere and I am very concerned I might lose them.

Can anyone help me solve this error message problem please?

many thanks

Tracey

It a known issue with some Android phones, it's to do with tbe sync function.

Go to...

Menu> Sertings> Manage Applications> All>

Select the Contacts and clear cache, back out and then select the Contacts storage and clear cache. Should fix it cor you.

Thank you JayJ.

Unfortunately this isn't working. Some of the steps you posted aren't on my X10 mini pro. I follow this path...

Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Contacts (or there is contacts storage).

when I select either contacts or contacts storage the screen show this information...

Contacts
Version 1

Storage
Total 288kb
Application 284kb
Data 4.00kb
CLEAR DATA

Cache
Cache 0.00b
CLEAR CACHE (but this is greyed out)

Launch by default
Not details set
CLEAR DEFAULT (this is also greyed out)

As you can see, there is no Clear cache for me to action. I am worried if I clear DATA I may lose my contacts.

Can you help with this please?
Thanks again

Tracey

Have you tried downloading a third party messaging app such as Handcent? This may be a workaround.
