How to unlock?

Having owned a x10 since April I have just purchased a x10 mini pro for the mrs. I picked it up on pay and go with o2 but need it to be unlocked so she can use her current sim card in it. o2 advised this can be done on their website but did not mention the process will take 28 days!

I have been to a few local independant phone shop who have offered to unlock the phone with quotes from £15 to £35. They have requested I leave the phone with them for a day or two which I am not comfortable with.

Is there a better way of sorting the problem or somewhere I can fix this myself?

there are a couple of ways to get this phone unlocked.

1. direct unlock is the best sure way to get it done.
not many people can genuinly offer this as direct unlock has not yet been added to main stream unlocking tools like SE tool or Cruiser, so you wont find this in your average mobile repair/unlock shop. The unlock is done via a private server that only a select few distributers of unlocking equipment have access to. This unlock takes around 30 seconds but you would need to take it to a dealer. we have access to this private server and can do it while you wait if you are in sheffield, or mail it into us to be done and we will mail it back the same day (google us)
the server supports direct unlock on the following models:
    Unlock Sony Ericsson Xperia X10
Unlock Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini
Unlock Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro
    Unlock Sony Ericsson Xperia X8
    Unlock Sony Ericsson E15
    Unlock Sony Ericsson M1 Aspen
    Unlock Sony Ericsson W100 Spiro

2. unlock by code, you can get a Worldwide sony ericsson Unlock Code from imeicodes.co.uk this however takes about a week to get your code, so you need to be patient. The code will work fine aslong as you havent used up your tries to enter it (just like a nokia phone). It's a good idea to check your unlock code attempts before ordering a code by doing the following:
    Press menu < < menu < menu menu <
Then you can check the counter [0 or 5].
If it says 0 then you cannot enter codes.

Hope this helps.

All these unlocking thing.. Would it be solved if you flash custom firmwares or use a different customer fingerprint to trick the phone?
