PC USB Problem

Today my phone will no longer be recognised by any PC. Its a de-branded 3 X10 running Android 2.1. The Phone will charge via USB but there is no pull down option asking to mount the SD card. I vaguely remember an pop up option asking if I wanted to charge the phone or mount it yesterday but today there is no such pop up. I've trawled through every setting menu but I cannot find anything regarding to USB charging to PC SD mounting. Its driving me nuts.

Help :?: :?: :?:

ok then try to enable USB debugging. see if it helps. at least the pc should detect the debug toggle. if it does... try reinserting your sd card.. if it doesn't.. you might have to repair the firmware.

Hey tookie, thanks for the replies.

I have enabled USB debugging but still no connection. I have removed and reinserted sd card. I have reset the phone back to factory settings. Still nothing.

How would I go about repairing the firmware without USB connectivity? Would the phone still charge if the cable was damaged?

Good question. Does it? Try using another micro usb cable and see if the usb functions work. If they do, your cable is faulty. If they don't, port might be faulty.
no way to repair firmware without usb. But you can try using adb wireless app, and run xda flash tools, since it uses adb.. No it won't work because you can't boot into flash mode with wireless

Send it in for repair lolz

i have found some other forums, where this issue has been addressed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860317
i have a feeling this is software related.

my phone has a nordic fw, rooted, jit enabled by this tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos ... tcount=467)

the 2 suspicious program i used after jit, and possibly corrupted the USB is ES Security Manager threat detection (deleted one item on my sd card) and AnReboot (tried reboot recovery)
maybe it is a good starting point for investigate.

why not try a factory reset? and see if it helps? and i don't think files on the sd card will affect USB functionality

Has anyone found a fix for this issue?

I have had this problem since the 2.1 update came out.

I cannot mount via USB debugging is turned on and not options to mount.

Not recognised in Windows XP or 7...
How can this be fixed??

Has anyone fixed this with factory reset?

Have you checked all the ports? Be sure your USB ports are running properly because sometimes front USB port doesn’t pick the heavy data cable. You reinstall your device manager and fix it on the USB port behind, I’m sure your phone will get enabled.

I've tried it on multiple PC's. It has to be a software problem on the phone it self..
