Xperia X10 Forum

I have read that X10 support JAVA applications. but when I open file manager and click on a .jar file it just open the jar file and show inside files and it doesn't provide application manager to install the file. is it possible to install a java application on X10 or not? if yes how ?

As far as I know j2me apps can't be run on the Xperia X10 unfortunately.

too bad. java as lots of cool applications! I can use them on my P1i anyway! but android apps are cool as well. thank anyway

u can run java program in a different way
follow the steps below

Download java App Runner from the below link

copy the andme_signed.apk through PC companion or bluetooth
in xperia x10 mini go to setting, application, click or activate unknown sources option to allow install software
after that come out and select application option; it will display the apk file install the andme_signed.apk(java runner)


To convert Java Jar and Jad File to apk file, visit the below site and convert the games of java to apk file.

even though u convert jar to apk android format; it will get installed but it will ask u to install j2me for running. so andme_signed.apk will help on this regard to run... i found with the installed file is not that much satisfactory... either the apk what i have downloaded is pbm or the andme_signed.apk installed is not working to that extent to convert java to android app...
