I am looking for a gadget or app that will let me turn WiFi and/or GPS on or off with one touch. Is there something like this available?

We seldom use the GPS and it drains the battery (same with WiFi.) I just want to make it easier for my wife to turn them on or off. We both have the X10i.

there should be one at the right home screen of a stock x10! go and check it. if you accidentally deleted it, long press the homescreen, select widgets, and look for Quick Settings.

there are many apps out there that does this,
quicksettings (i personally use this, awesome not a widget tho)
switchpro (has widgets, but i didn't really like it.. i can't remember why.)

possibly some others that are included in home replacements

Thanks for the quick response. I discovered the buttons on the right home screen firs thing this morning. I guess if I had messed around with it more than a few hours I would have seen this. Thanks again. Enjoying the phone so far.

play around with your phone lots! it's the only way you'll get it to work FOR you.

that's the only way to learn, check out every menu and customize it as the user wants it

the manual, wtf.. who reads that crap?;)

but only after trying to find something which i can't find. but if i can't find it, chances are, it's not in the manual either, coz i would have ripped out every single menu in the phone LOL.

always use the manual as a back up!!

Thanks again. I am the type who actually does read the manual. I got that PDF before the phones arrived. I tend to explore every nook and cranny of a new electronic gizmo. I had only had the phone for a few hours when I posted. Anyway, great phone, great forums here. I am sure most of you know about this, but MyPhoneExplorer now supports X10 and other Android phones. Pretty good and FREE. Just down load from here: http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ and get the phone app from the MARKET. I thought the PC companion would have had most of this functionality in it ( yeah I know LOL.)
