Yeah I'm had ADW but I'm using Launcher Pro Plus atm, it's great but I'm not sure I can honestly say one is better than the other. They are both very similar in many ways but also there are some differences and I miss things from ADW but there are things I like about LPP that I would equally miss if I went back to ADW.
I think if your a casual user ADW is not better but easier because it's easily themed but LPP requires icons to skin apps and you cannot skin those in the app tray.
I do really like the LPP dock though, easier than getting to the ADW dock. I also like the ability to hide apps in the app tray, 3D app tray and the LLP widgets but I missed hiding the status bar with a gesture, transparent app tray and ADW's resizing of widgets is more stable than LPP's. My google search widget I resized to a 3x1 and it keeps going back to a 4x1?

Best thing about adw is the icon names can be dropped.
That is the only thing I miss about it since I uninstalled.
New 2.1 5 screens is good enough for me, I just want icon names gone 8-)

You can do the same thing in Launcher Pro as well. (Backup and Restore)

i prefer adw. there are swipe up down actions (does lp have this? i couldn't find it at first glance, so i gave it up)
furthermore, the app drawer has multiple filter profiles , which lp doesn't have. even tho so far i only use one profile, i like the idea of having more, rather than restricted to one

Swipe action, I didn't find either. But I never used it anyway

I'm not sure what you mean by multiple filter profile?!

in adw, you can create a list of what apps you want to show in the app drawer. lp can do this, but only one. adw can have multiple (unlimited number if i didn't remember wrongly)

Yeah tookie there is a gesture option albeit slightly different to ADW, the for icons in the dock are obviously customizable to the users needs well as week as this you can add gestures to them. For example, the app tray icon you could add the gesture to hide/show status bar or pull notifications down.
I really like LPP but I really like ADW, as I said above ADW is easier to theme but generally LPP is easier to use. Once you know how to use LPP you can set it up in minutes were as ADW took allot longer.
I too thought the filers in the app ready if ADW was a great idea but I just never used it, could see the point in having to press another icon to get to my other apps. With LPP I simply hide the icons of app that are either not launchable or lO have on my homescreen, less clutter by far.
Prathaban is right you can save LPP settings just as you can ADW's.

The worse thing about LPP is the instability if the widget resizing option but this us also a good thing as you can overlap widgets.

Image

This screen has Beautiful Widgets 4 day weather widget 4x1 resized to 3x1 and Mobile Signal Widget Pro 4x1 resized to a 3x1 and the SiMi Clock 4x1 resized to a 4x4 and overlapping the others.

(Sorry for pictute size, I'll reduce it when I go on my laptop)

I noticed that option but in some way there was something different about it that made me decide to go back to ADW.

Also ADW seemed simpler to set up. May be less options but easier for me.

Are you having a laugh, comparing the settings of ADW and LPP and you think ADW is easier to set up?
I disagree!
