When ever im in the camera application and presses the camera button on the side, the phone returns to my homescreen instead of taking a picture?
Please help

That doesn't sound right to me, I can honestly say the camera isn't great on my X10i but I've never had a problem like that.
Have you rooted it or played with any sub-menu's, it is possible I believe to change the buttons but only through the service menu's.
I would take it back to where you purchased it.

@Duta,have you tried to do a factory reset? (Do a backup first! ) If the same thing happens again,I suggest you head back to the service centre.
