Convert pdf to columns or wider margins

Hi

I have an X10 mini pro running Android 2.1.
When I view pdf files in portrait they are too wide and so I prefer landscape.
BUT
Even in landscape there is a problem.
At the minimum enlargement to read the text it is just off screen at the edge(s).
Sliding from left to right in order to read the text is maddening.

If the pdf's had wider margins that would solve the problem.
Equally if the pdf's had two columns that would work.
Does anyone know of a reader that will solve this problem automatically?
If not is there another solution please?
