Problems using Mecontacts

I apologize as this is my first experience with downloading and installing an app and I'm unsure about what information I need to give you so you can help me. I have an X10 Model number U20i Firmware version 2.1-update1 and MeContacts Beta 0.46.

My goal is to use Mecontacts to send a single text message to at least 15 people at the same time. The text would be something like this “Hi Team, please be at field 12 at 0900 for warm up on Saturday, 17 September. Remember your water and sunscreen.” Really short with no pictures or links. `

In Mecontacts I press menu and four selections pop up, Group SMS, Edit Grids, Preferences and Help. I select ‘Group SMS’ and am prompted to 1. Select contacts, 2 go to >Menu –SMS Contacts. I select the contacts from the grid (selected contacts get a blue circle over the contact picture), go to menu and select sms contacts. The standard text screen appears with the numbers of the contacts I selected at the top of the screen. There is a semi-colon after each number with no space between each number. I type the message and hit send. My phone tells me that the message has been sent with no errors reported.

The message is only received by the first selected contact in the grid. The order I selected the contacts doesn’t change which contact gets the message. Example, if I select the contact in the second row and first column and the contact in the first row and last column, only the contact in the first row, last column will get the SMS. If I select the contact in second row, first column and the last row, first column only the second row, first column gets the SMS.

All contacts in the grid will receive an SMS if they are selected as the only recipient of the SMS.

What am I doing wrong? Or is there an easier app that I could use to send these text messages?
