Russian site NoMobile.ru has released a preview of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. They only had a short time with the handset but posted their initial impressions. First off, the phone didn’t seem as big in real-life as the dimensions (4-inch screen) suggests, it also seems judging by the translation that the phone doesn’t look as good in the flesh as it does in the promo shots.
After all the debate, regarding the quality of the display, they found that it had a fantastic screen. An interesting factor that I hadn’t heard before was the tactile differences between the black & white handsets. The bottom of the white X10 is made from glossy plastic, whilst the black model has a rubberised material that hopefully means less fingerprint marks.
Overall they had mixed feelings, the whole experience felt a bit raw, but they were promised by SE reps that the slow UI issues will be rectified before release. Check out some very nice pictures of the handset after the break.
Update: Another Russian site (Mobile@Mail.ru) has also released a preview of the handset that’s worth checking out.
