Sony Ericsson is currently showing off the Xperia X10 Android smartphone at the Web 2.0 Conference in New York. As part of the show, the company has confirmed that its special user interface will be called the Nexus UX platform.
The Nexus UX platform incorporates both Timescape and Mediascape interface. It is Sony Ericsson’s special UI that will sit atop both Android and Symbian handsets. HTC has done something similar, porting its Sense UI to both Android and Windows Mobile handsets.
Sony Ericsson has released the WebSDK, a development tool allowing devs to create applications for Sony Ericsson’s Android OS and Symbian Foundation phones. Registration is free and gets you access to the developer tools, white-papers and forums. Check out Steve Walker talking about the Nexus platform after the break.
