The guys over at the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog have been chatting to SE’s marketing chief, Lennard Hoornik, who confirmed that the Xperia X10 handset will get an Android update from 1.6. However, whilst the timeline has been wishy-washy, Hoornik wasn’t looking to make it any clearer.

It seems that the update will “happen sometime before the end of the year.” Now I would hope Sony Ericsson had more of a cemented timeline. If the news is true, it could be a long time before the update will hit handsets. The phone is due out from April in Europe, Japan and Canada.
