Complete list of Xperia X10 Android 2.1 ‘kit’ numbers to date

Android 2.1The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 family continues to receive the Android 2.1 (Éclair) update through different regions and operators. The guys over at the SE Product Blog have highlighted the full list of ‘kits’ that have been updated thus far.

Sony Ericsson’s reference to kits is that each type of X10 in each region will have its own kit number, this includes different kit numbers for phones with different operators and different colours too. To identify your kit number you need to have a look at your box for the Sales Item number, normally next to the IMEI number. It is an eight digit number (four digits each separated by a dash). So if you’re wondering whether the Éclair update has been released for your handset we have included the full kit list after the break.

Update: We have updated the kit list as of 17th December.

  1. My number is not on the list… That means waiting another decade for this damn update.
God, SE! Get a move on!

  2. @ Baggy: its under the battery, you have to take out the battery it is the SI #, should be 8 digits long…

WHERE IS THE KIT FOR ROGERS! I AM SICK OF SEEING “NO UPDATE AVAILABLE”, BLASPHEMOUS!!!

  3. i was one of the first to buy too ….

But i’ll you what there are people over at some other forums who have it (2.1) and they’re asking to degrade back to 1.6 !!!

Also i’ve been getting into modding my x10 with ADW, and loads of font and style packs using desktop visualizer, i’m loving my x10 atm ….. not SE though …..

  4. 1231-2949.2 DE
that’s mine, not on the list and I don’t care, I got the GLOBAL 2.1 😛
(i bought it from a webshop which got the phone from germany obviously, cuz the white X10 is not sold seperately in the netherlands)

  5. I bought my xperia x10 from ebay, unlocked. I am not sure where it came from but it is somewhere in Asia, and I am pretty sure I dont have my kit number. Is there enother way to find it? How can I know if 2.1 is ready for my phone? Do I just plug it in to PC Companion every once in a while?

  6. Still no eclair in Canada! Only good news today is new angry birds on app market works on my Xperia with 1.6! At least I have that while I wait for 2.1
Guess Canada is third world as far as S.E. is concerned.

  7. –FIRST–

still no 2.1 update for Philippines, but as per sonyericsson blog, update will be on Nov 15 for xperia, and xperia ini pro and Nov 22 for mini

can’t wait anymore, i’m too excited, anyone pls post your personal experience of 2.1 update, both good and bad side of the update

    -jr-

  8. My number is not on that list either.
They closed the comments section because they knew people would be pissed.
    This is such a shame.

Fact is i had a bad experience with SE phone 5/6 years ago but i came back to give them another try. Dont think i’ll be doing that again, very poor customer service.
The only way to make sure SE learn something is dont buy their phones in the future. Im not gonna sell the phone/flash it because that stupid, i’ll wait till my contracts up and go with the competition (not iPhone i cant stand sheep…)

  9. it says my phone is up to date i tried uninstalling pc ompanion nd seus still doesnt workk :@@ WTFFFFFF
    my set is germann

  10. i have updated my X10 using root explorer last nov 2, im from the Philippines and i also have a X10 mini Pro, i dont see my numbers here but when i went to software update on my phone earlier, it prompt me that there is a new software for my phone! gonna UPDATE later after work, Tnx SE!!

  12. For god sake people, stop waiting and flash your phones. I did it in 10 minutes and it worked perfectly.

  13. 1232-4285 :-{
It was originally a Vodafone-supplied handset but I use it with an Orange pre-pay SIM (which seems to work OK) – I wonder if I will ever get the update even if my “kit” becomes available?

  14. For those complaining about SE not pushing the update fast enough, read the SE forums clearly. SE isn’t the ones pushing the updates. Your provider is. SE provides a generic update “kit” to each provider. Your provider modifies those kits to their liking – disabling features that may not work right on their network or cause issues, installing their own software, or just to brand the phone with their logo at boot-up/shut-down. The provider takes their newly modified update kit and test it out on their network. Once they are sure there are no real bugs that will cause major issues, they release the kit.

In this case, as the update will probably not be over the air (OT) but via the sony update software on your computer – one of two things will happen. Either a) your provider sends the kit information along with forwarded server information to SE so that the SE Update software can download the kit. b) Your provider sends the kit back to SE with full modifications and SE hosts it on one of their servers linked by kit identifiers. I’m putting my money on option a), and if SE doesn’t have the information from the provider, the update isn’t going to take place. It’s not magic. It doesn’t happen without input from both sides. Stop blaming Sony Ericsson on this one.

  22. No update in India for X10 yet, and the SE helpline is saying the update will be done in this month….Can you notice how far their imaginations is…this month… Losers…!!!

  23. hi guys just on my way home from work and was gonna update. I have rooted my 1.6 via one click.
I live in Japan would I be able to update just by the usual way or do I have to unroot in order to update?
also if I use the same root method will I gain superuser again?
    thanks in advance

  24. The 2.1 update is available for Mini/pro in India
Mini got update on 10th i.e. today
    Mini pro on 6th
Only the X10 has not got it

    Updating my mini to 2.1
    Will post my impressions soon

  25. Hola . yo tengo SI 1236-7274 movistar – argentina X10a
    no llega 2.1
    movistar tell : 2.0 +/- 20 noviembre * 2.1 marzo 2011 !!
    una “$#%!”#%%
Quiero liberarme de movistar ! es una porqueria !

  26. Mine isn’t ready yet either it seems.
    I have: 1232-4404 (I’m from Belgium)

Can someone explain to me why this takes so long? It still isn’t making any sense whatsoever to me. Do all the different kits really need different firmware??

I’m getting really tired of going to the “Check for Updates” option in my phone. I feel slightly obsessed with getting the 2.1
Just give it to me so I can start complaining about how bad it is. 😀

  27. Richard AH, I had 2.1 on my old Xperia before I had to give it to vodafone because of problems with messaging. I got a replacement today with the 1232-4285 S/I stuck on 1.6. Does anybody know what Vodafone plan to do with this? 🙁

  28. @L

Yup i bought it here in the Philippines, at SM San Lazaro, updated it earlier! my X10 and X10 mini pro are now running on 2.1.. my X10 i did it by rooting my phone last Nov 2, first to get the update in the Philippines for both Xperias. 🙂

  29. Sure is a pain. My pals using HTC have the latest os when it hits the google streets. My X10 bought for a hefty premium in Belgium, but I live in UK, is still 1.6, and I’m getting seriously peeved.

I hope SE pull the finger out of their proverbial! The alternative is to go HTC, and I can’t wait much longer.

  30. 1238-4462
    dats mine………he he….
got the update on 4th of nov….
it said no updates available…..but when I repaired miracle happened….
it became 2.1…..really its true…….it hapened for most of the users……
    try it for yourself…..

  31. Why I’ve a 1203-8161 ?? All others I see have a 123x or 124x ??? What is the differences exactly ?
    please answer me.

any help would be great…and please dont say get windows

  33. the bad thing is nothing for Mexico, and they announce now in the SE homepage Mexico, with the features of 2.1.. and nothing yet…. I won’t buy a SE device if this continue like this… question, debranding the phone will accelerate the update?? thanks

  34. @Mark.. i feel your pain..
volgens mij moeten wij wachten op die brakke Hyves toevoeging in Timescape.. \-(
iets anders puur specifiek voor NL zit er niet in de X10 toch?

  35. My kit is on the list (updated 11-11-2010), but PC Companion and SEUS claims the software (1.6) is up to date. Should I do something to get update or what? Anybody can help?

  38. @X10 or anyone that can help!
If I had debranded my phone (what I did was change from Vodafone Australia branding to Vodafone New Zealand branding due to release of earlier update that never came/came too late), does that affect the SI number? Will I have a different SI number now or?

  39. THe SI no. is wriiten on the back syd off yewr phone
remove the battery nd see it
    yew cant change that 😉

  40. To my surprise I am on the updated list. I have an unbranded white X10. i have not changed the firmware or anything. Apparently I am not getting a notification on the phone. When I go to Software Update on the phone it still says ‘Your Phone has the latest Software’. I have not checked with PC Companion or SEUS today as I am in office. Will check it once reached home. Anybody else in similar situation. BTW my SI is 1232-2949.

  59. Hi, I’ve same issue like Panchi. Telcel & sonyericcson Mexico doesn’t say nothing about the upgrade. My phone still on 1.6 and the update service say your phone has the last update… do you know why?

  61. @Sam

  66. ”um, omg. i dont have an update yet! is something wrong?! this is effing ridiculous! i keep checking and my number isn’t there and my phone says nothing?! what is going on1!!?!!!11”

JUST WAIT. YOU POSTING YOUR EXACT DETAILS AND COMPLAINTS HERE WILL DO NOTHING TO ACHIEVE YOU GETTING THE UPDATE ANY FASTER. YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT. THERE ARE BIGGER PROBLEMS. IT WILL COME SOON, AND YOU WILL STILL BE DISSATISFIED.

  67. @zaryab sure. I got my x10i from amazon germany. The SI behind my battery is 1232-2949. But no update untill now. Btw thx for helping me.

  69. @zaryab
I had debranded from Vodafone Australia to Vodafone Newzealand (which you listed above):
    “X10i VFE-NZ_VFE 1234-6142 1235-5919 Vodafone NZ/Sensuous black”
Does that mean, that my SI number is the one for Vodafone NZ and thus I will get the update once it is released for that SI number?

  70. Also, is there a way to find out the SI number to make sure that it is the NZ one? Like is there any way I can find out on the phone?

  71. @Emkay
Yup w8 for the update to b released fr NZ
    nd if yew cudnt update
den try flashing back to yew default firmwaree that is Australian

My phone was UK according to SI # nd i was having german Firmware.i cudnt updatee
i flashd back to UK generic firmware to get the update

  72. Yewr SI no. is for ..Australian updateee
if u got NZ update of 2.1 yew myt face sum problems
i tried flashing to Nordic 2.1 the day it was release
    nd on that day
i flashd back to 1.6 coz my phones becumzz a lagggy buggy shittt

  73. Mine is the X10i CUST-NL GENERIC 1232-4406 Customized NL/Sensuous black, but no message or no response from SEUS (even after re-installing it and clearing the DB).

  74. relax guys. read the blog carefully, have patience. the update won’t come faster if you make such trouble 🙂

  75. Behind the battery is written 1232-2949, but in the file default.on system is 1235-7836.
    And NOW?????

  76. Behind battery is SI (Sales Item) or u can say Kit no.

nd in default prop its the customization no..
    both are diffrnt thingss

  77. Ok, so from what I can gather from these forums unbranded handsets already can update. Strange that because I can’t, i’ve even changed network provider three times just to check as many have said it’s down to the provider. I’m very confused now, I have an x10 mini, will I ever be able to update it? If yes, when, if not why? Surely it’s just like reformatting a Pc, same program for everyone just different drivers to make it work, but we all have the same phone, just different regions. Anyone from Sony care to enlighten me on this because i’m totally confused and losing a lot of faith in your company. I’m in the uk by the way and the SI is 1236-8836.4

  78. Someone has already done the update with the KIT 1232-2949 and 1235-7836 in the default file?
Because my phone say that is the latest software (1.6).

  79. Oh and the person who called him/herself ‘You’ (Comment 121), the whole point of these forums is so people can express their concerns or ask questions. If you have nothing constructive to add to the thread then don’t add anything at all.

  80. Please help me Zaryab or some who know!!!

    country : germany
    brand : t-mobile DE
    1232-2954

    when this update come out???

  81. My sl. no. is 1235-2964 Bangalore, India. Sony er product blog says this Kit has the Update on 11.11.10 but it is 12.11.10 and 4.00 pm IST but no update. Anybody with same problem?

  82. Running 2.1 on xperia x10 mini (no brand, generic Germany) since Wednesday . Works fine. Faster and smoother. Like it very much. Thank you, Sony Ericsson!

  83. @ Zaryab and BR
My phone did not update as SEUS and PC Companion both said Your phone has the Latest Software. I tried and everything, from clearing the db folder to reinstalling both the softwares. But no success. Hence @ Zaryab the logic that firmware of the phone should be that of the country has failed for me. However the support section on the SE website is out of service. So if try to download a PC Companion or SEUS from the SE website you wont be able to do it. I reckon SE is aware of it and hopefully they are working towards a new version of SEUS. I am loosing patience and at any point i can just start abusing SE by whichever medium possible.

    nd now me download …2.1

  85. @Sam
    @ nunux10
Did you get a notification on the phone?

no. because most of the time I’m not online and I have “automatic update search” disabled. Once a day I just checked for new update with the phone (over the air (OTA)) and also checked with SEUS. On Wendnesday after manual update checking the phone said: “There is an update, install it with computer”. After that I startet SEUS. Installation without problems. The first time after the update the phone seemed to be a little slow (half a day), but now its faster than before with 1.6

  86. Those who having .the default firmware according to SI List above
nd their SI is present in Update KITs. nd still unable to update
    i gues u shudd fuck SE 😀

  87. I’m wondering, why I don’t get the update, even though I have a SI number, which is on the list (1232-2950). The phone and the Sony Ericsson Update Service tell me, that my firmware (1.6) is currently the newest. Does it matter, which number is written in the “System Info”? Because there are many other equally long numbers like my SI number, which is written under the battery.

  88. @ Kingston

Same here mate. BTW which is the most stable FW out of the ones available on XDA. I think Global Generic will be. Any clues?

  89. hi all
my SI 1232-2949 ı bought it from Germany and using in Turkey the SI is in the list but when ı connect to SEUS or Compenıon both says it is up to date and still 1.6 ….Anybody updated with SI 1232-2949 ????

  90. by Chris@O2 on Thu Nov 11, 2010 6:30 pm

    Hello everyone

Thanks all for your comments. I’m sorry that many of you have been disappointed at how long you’ve had to wait for this update.

We consider it absolutely essential to ensure that, when a handset manufacturer releases a software update, it’ll work properly with the device on the O2 network. To that end, we’re committed to thoroughly testing the software and will only release it for our customers to use when we’re satisfied that they’ll get the right experience.

To end the speculation and answer your burning question, though….

Yes – We will, subject to satisfactory test verification, provide this update to customers next week (commencing 15 November). At the moment, we cannot be any more specific, but we’ll update you when we can.

    Thanks
    Chris

  91. SHIT SI numbers on SE blog is a bullshit!!!

That should be available KITs – My operator stated that software is in approval process since today (yesterday SE updated blog with my SI number) So probably Ill have to wait a week till they run all tests and so on.

  92. Just had the weirdest thing! Checked the orange support page on my phone and it stated the update was now available!! I rushed out to my pc fired it up and started seus, tried updating and nothing so went back to orange support page on pc and it was back to the coming soon statement!!! Am i Going nuts or did orange pull it off in the short time it took to fire up my pc????? I’m gutted, what the hell is going on??????

  93. @Al Tomkins
It’s not SE, the released it to VodaFone in week 44 i have read.
VodaFone now istrying to kill it off with baking their ‘360’ in it.
When their done we get it.. Cause we all love ‘360’

    /me unlucky 1232-4285.5

    Greets,

  94. I was tired waiting for my operator (ERA PL) to let me download upgrade – They just started to test it and it will be available at the end of November.

I downloaded FlashTool from XDA and got Global Generic.

IT ROCKS!!! Software is great, much better then 1.6. Faster, looks better and works better (eg keyboard). Dont wait for your op install Global Generic – it has lots of languages. Try it yourself!

  95. @ zaryab
i m a student in pak, my x10 has si # 1232-4290, and its country is japan, plz wud u tell that my update wud b available with japan or pak or india-pak. thnx in advance

if u flash to UK orange firmware
theres isnt ny orange network in asia etccc
so better flashing to UK generic
    ive provided the instruction above

  98. @anyone that can help!
This may seem stupid but…is there any program (from XDA or whatever) which I can download, choose firmware I want from a list, connect phone and it does all the debranding/change of firmware on its own without me risking messing up the process?

  99. @Zaryab
Is there a difference between “flashing” and “debranding?” Like..is changing to a different region called flashing?

  100. @emkay
    Flashing means just changing firmwarees
Branding means …. yew can say
yew having firmware of SE but modified but some network operators lyk vodafone o2 3 .telenor etcc
so yew get the update wen yew network operator will modify nd release
dat means branding fones update takes tymmmm
Debranding means u hav firmware which hav direct update access to yewr SE
no network etc stuff no preinstalled network appss
hope this helpss u understand em not XDA 😀

  101. Hey all, I am trying to connect my X10a to SEUS, I plug in the USB into the computer, Then hold the back button, plug into my phone. and the green light comes on making me think it is going into flash mode, i hold the back button for like at least 8 mins, and nothing happens it eventually just turns back on… this is really frustrating. no custom ROM or anything… only roted.. any help would be awesome. thank you.

  102. Looks like 2.1 is out for Canada. Imagine my surprise when i checked for updates this morning and it told me i have to use my pc for the update. Can’t wait to get home.

  103. @pax i gues when it says RELEASE back button
    toh u shud release it
why holding it for 8 minss :\

  104. @zaryab. Maybe because it doesn’t. It stays at the screen showing the animation of how to connect it in flash mode. I’m pretty tech savvy. Not a n00b. Lol. Waiting till it says release. Nope sure doesn’t. It seems like it doesn’t know my phone is connected. But it sure it. Lol

  105. @cdn_tbird. Don’t hold your breath. Saw that to. Updated PC companion. Says up to date. *shakes fist* I’m on Rogers as well. If you have better luck let me know. Thanks.

  106. Tried update via wireless (x10) – said to connect to PC but SE PC companion said that software was up to date… what gives?! (Ahmedabad, India)

  107. Hallo daar Nederlanders,

    In English,

Just update your X10, when SEUS tells you that the software is up to date just ignore and install it again (repair).
After a while (updating for about 15 minutes), restart the phone…and Android 2.1 is a fact!

    Good luck!

  108. Seems like Stefan may be right… I tried going to the ‘repair’ option and now seem to be downloading an ‘update’. Going veeeeeery slowly though!

  109. just spoke to Orange UK they said they have no idea when its out :S
They said just keep checking the website.

    She sounded hot though… 😉

  110. @Pax. Got it to work finally. Of course the PC companion software is not helpful.

Started with my phone turned off as usual and plugged in the cable while holding down the back key. It seems to start the process normally and then when I continue it comes up with a new screen that says I have to start over again with the phone unplugged and to pull the battery. This is were it goes off the rails. It tells you that it is already up to date. So I started over and when this came up I canceled out which brings me back to the update screen I’m used too. On this screen it will tell you to release the back key which you had already done. Just press the back key once and it then says that there is new software and it’ll give you the option to download it. After that it was smooth sailing.

Way to go SE. Could you make it any more difficult and convoluted to upgrade to 2.1 :-p

  111. orange uk, have got to be the worst in the world they have told me twice the update was going to be on the 11/11/10 then when it didn’t happen they said they didn’t have a date.
not one person at orange have a clue

  112. @Fredd I’m on Rogers in Canada and still no go! What gives? Tell me your secret! TELL ALL!
@Stefan I did the repair thing the other day and got 1.6, so then I had to re-install my apps etc. and it was like starting over for no reason.
    @Zaryab
“Those who having .the default firmware according to SI List above
nd their SI is present in Update KITs. nd still unable to update
i gues u shudd fuck SE ” DAMN! I’m not on Sony list, but I am on your list.

*** I just got off phone with Rogers Wireless Tech Support and they did release it and kill it.
Unexpected high traffic volumes killed their servers and they had to pull it.
They expect to have the issue fixed and update up and running MONDAY Nov. 15.
To me, this means I won’t be able to have the time to “start over” until next weekend 🙁
Whatever; it’s finally coming with a firm date from Rogers! I am very excited about this!

  113. Even after publishing the SI numbers in the blog it took almost 4 days to get the update in India..
x10i juz updated now.. Its cool..
Now x10i is the number no.1 ever made 🙂

its cool.. i love the new feel..
But never forget the frustrations made by Fuckin SE

  114. @=NoXiouS=
You do realize that Rogers tech support just fed you one heaping spoonful of BS. The upgrade is about 170MB. The only way their servers got flooded by demand for this download is if they had sold a few million units and everyone of them tried to d/l it at the exact same time.

  115. having trouble getting this to work. have a x10 mini pro and trying to update to 2.1. my phone initially said there was an update available, so i downloaded pc companion and ‘updated’ everything. rebooted phone and it said it was still firmware 1.6. now my phone says it’s up-to-date. i tried ‘reloading’ the software and nothing fixed. what gives?

from ontario, canada. my carrier is rogers, but we bought the phone from the US.

  116. It appears Rogers has finally released the 2.1 update for Canada, or at least the west coast. I’m in BC and i updated last night! Its great, way faster and smoother at everything…. and i can play angry birds now =)

  117. Ladies,

I take this opportunity to inform all that after months of turmoil, anxiety and frustration, I finally have the 2.1 update from SE. Its laggy at the moment but getting better with age like old wine.
    Cheers all.

  118. Im in holland and i got the update , i didn’t even get a notice on my phone i just updated my phone and i had 2.1 lol looks slick but now i got nothing to rage about or should i start complaining for 2.2, anyway thanks sony i only had the phone for a month so i dont really hate you that much but you still suck.’run when you see me or pay what you owe,

  119. @pax. NP, glad what I discovered helped. I feel sorry for the average person that has to deal with this bs. I’ve got over 20 years of IT experience and I’ll admit that it was a “fluke” for me to stumble across the solution.

  120. Appears I’m the only one with no update yet… 🙁
Australian Phone (no update in Australian carriers yet) but New Zealand Branded (No Update in NZ either) LAME

  121. @Zaryab + Anyone
Sorry to seem stupid again, but how can I ‘flash’ back to how I originally got my phone? Is this done through “debranding” etc? Or is there an easier way?

  122. BR how did you do this?

    @BR
    Now i have the 2.1.
    Solution:
Changes the file default from 1235-7836 to 1235-7379.

  123. can you just put this update on your fucking site for everyone? how come SE is such a weak company.

  124. I wish sony would hurry up. Tmobile uk told me they submit changes and then have to wait for sony and google to approve. So it is sony not pulling their finger out. Harumph!

  125. @cdn_tbird having trouble trying to do the steps you suggested. are you able to rewrite it? i’m really confused and can’t get the update to work on my phone as it does say it’s “up to date” – are you using PC companion to do the update again? because it only gives me the option of repair and cancel.

on my phone it tells me it’s up to date, but i try cancelling and going back in and i have no luck.

  126. @Zaryab
I’ve been following SE Australia on facebook, only people that got the X10 without any carrier branding have gotten the update. No carrier branded X10s have gotten any of the update, and mine was Vodafone Branded so 🙁 :(.

  127. @col127, yes you have to use PC Companion to do the update. The instructions I paraphrased are with respect to that. Start with your phone off, and not connectect to your PC then launch PC Companion and follow the instructions. Not sure if SE/Rogers have corrected it since early Saturday.

  128. Mine was updated to 2.1 since mid october, bought it from ebay (x10 mini pro), i think it was from Hong-kong, here’s how i updated mine.
I’ve got a notification saying that update is ready for my phone, all I need to do was to connect it to pc companion that runs on a computer with internet connection and do all my back ups and let the phone be updated by PC Companion.
I have to say, the phone is faster, better performance and better battery use since i’ve updated it.

  129. can someone tell me which firmware is stable because i flashed my phone to nordic firmware last nov 2 to ge the update early and the issues im encountering are, the camera shutter has no sound, no haptic feedback even it is turned on and no soud on audible selection and on audible touch tone. i did reinstall the software by reupdating it using SEUS, it was fixed for just like a minute and it the stupid issue still occurs! its not that really bad issue, just want to know if NORDIC firmware really sucks! can i flash it to UK generic? or does that firmware also encounters some issue? THANKS!

  130. Have just manually scanned for an update on Orange UK and they’re saying ones available.
Cant update atm cause im at work sounds good though.

  131. After trying all day trying OTA updates, and SEUS, I un-installed SEUS and downloaded a new copy from SE and installed it. I then deleted the contents of the db folder in C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db . I then followed usual steps to check software on the phone using SEUS and got my new software update that way. I’m on a branded O2 UK handset and I can confirm I have 2.1-update1 with a baseband version of M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006 Build 2.0.A.504.

The kit number for my phone is 1236-8836.4 EN

  132. if this is the surves thay give us i whas better of buying a i phone, i mean come on how hard can it be! it’s just an update zzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ se nr. 1203-8161.

    SO MOVE IT!!!

  133. Hey you lot, spoken to Vodafone tonight (earlier today they told me the update was available via their website!) and one of their muppets told me it they would be releasing the update “maybe” before the end of this month! They also said that the update would be available either using PC Companion or using their website. Seems a bit odd, but not holding my breath

  134. Just checked for a software update on my X10i Orange UK branded and it said there was an update available! 😀 wooo!

  135. Finally got the 2.1 update on my x10, I’m on Orange UK.
Feels a bit laggy at the moment but still setting up everything.
Didn’t have a message in the status bar, I just connected my x10 to my pc and it said that there was an update available.

  136. i have X10 1232 – 4543 MX TELCEL / LUSTER WHITE and as for today no upgrade was able to install, i plug it in to my computer and it says UPGRADE AVAILABLE but it starts “preparing” and then i receive an Error and doesnt upgrade !

  137. I’m sicked and tired to wait for the available of 2.1 for my phone’s SI…

    work around solution:
    debrand ur x10 family devices…
update it via fresh installed SEUS…
    viola… u got 2.1!!!

    enjoy~

  138. got the update this week in Belgium (Proximus) for X10. Finally and it works smooth, all wifi and 3g modules work as they should (wasn’t like that on the 1.6). Now waiting for the 2.2 😉

  139. My kit number is strange, it seems to be 1234-2565.3. Anyone got any ideas??? From South Africa.

    Thanks

  140. Is the update ever going to be available in kenya?and can SE please help instead of just telling us where to get it?????

  141. stilllll waiting in uk for t-mobile sayz it should be wiv all t-mobile customers by the end of the week but who knows. sigh

  142. Finally kit 1240-0905 got 2.1 update ….. A new application similar to Android market for the Middle East Users and Basic camera functionality of Zoom is missing …..

  143. Hello everyone i have a question…………………now that i have 2.1 what size memory card can i use now? is it still just a 16gb or can i go all the way and get a 32gb card? help pls

  144. Hello guys, I am in the UK and on the ORANGE network. The update is released for my phone and is installed. However it wasn’t with the PC Companion, that didn’t work. The phone only updated with the update service on the SE website. http://www.sonyericsson.com I hope this helps some of you. 😀

  145. Hi guys. Can someone help me in finding a solution as to how get good picture zoom in x10i. I have upgraded to 2.1 firmware and picture quality as well as PDF viewer is very dull while zooming the documents. Thanks.

  146. @wunderloaf – you could always go to 32g. I have a 32g in my 1.6 AT&T X10a. Just beware of ebay and other scammers who are selling 32g below $95 US. It’s most likely a counterfeit. I got one card for $65 US and it was a fake Kingston and it failed when copying data to it over 4G, and Kingston would not RMA it (I sent them photos of the card) but got a refund. Had to buy from a reputable dealers for $109. Now I have about 1500 HQ MP3 on it, plus all my other stuff and still have a couple gig. Even as a Class 4 card, its snappy for mediascape.

  147. Thanks Stan. But, I get the good resolution in Just Picture subject to force close after few loads. I am sure there is some technical err made by SE. The resolution in OfficeSuite word, xl and PPT is very good. Pl advise. Thanks,

  148. Mine’s finally available, but I’m sticking with unbranded until I find someone who wants this thing. Before I bought this thing, I had made the assumption that by now most phones should be reasonably comparable, and certainly none would truly be horrible. My brothers phone is an old razr and he wouldn’t take this POS from me for free! (Mini) Other friends have seen me struggle with it, and won’t accept it for free either.

I’ve seen X10’s selling for 125, and mini’s for less, as everybody tries to cut their lossts… I’m going HTC once I find a good deal on a desire, but I feel for anyone who is stuck with their X10 until the end of their contract. In my opinion the fact that I’ve had to hard reset it almost every day since new, coupled with the fact that they couldn’t even get the CALL VOLUME right (they’ve been making cell phones for how long?!?!), this thing is barely a phone, and certainly isn’t smart. I’ve never had so much trouble giving away a free cellphone before, but it’s pretty well publicized what a joke these things are. What a waste of a 1GHZ processor in the X10! 2.1 is just a shinier version of the same s$&%.

  149. 1239-2226 in Australia by Three still no hope. Thinking of a new phone. This is my first SE and probably my last. Wayyy.. too behind

  150. I think this is one of the such a lot significant info for me. And i am glad studying your article. However wanna statement on few basic things, The site taste is great, the articles is actually nice : D. Excellent task, cheers
