Despite the fact that the generic UK Android 2.1 update for the Xperia X10 family rolled out 11 days ago, we are only now seeing some of the operators release their branded firmware. Orange and Three released the update yesterday according to user comments. However, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone Xperia X10 owners are still waiting.
Somewhat frustratingly for O2 UK owners is that O2 Germany and O2 Ireland have already released the update. All O2 have officially said is that it will be “released this week, as long as it meets testing requirements.” T-Mobile last gave an update a week ago and said the X10 update will be due “towards the end of the month”. Vodafone are even vaguer: “We’re still unable to give a definitive time for when such an update will be available. As soon as any further information around this is verified, we will endeavour to inform you.” Corporate speak if ever I saw it. We’ll keep you posted with any developments.
