It looks like that yet another member of Sony Ericsson’s next-gen Xperia range has already been snapped. We wonder if there’ll be any surprises left by the time MWC comes around at the current rate. The handset codenamed Hallon is believed to be the Vivaz successor, but instead of Symbian it is rumoured to run Android 2.3 on the MSM7230 processor.
The design seems slightly unusual in our eyes as it has a lot of space dedicated to a front-facing camera. This could mean a high-resolution module used for HD video chat, but some people are suggesting it could even be a pico projector! Have a closer look after the break and judge for yourself.

I love SE, esp the design they did with my X10 and my gf’s X10miniPro, but cmon, why switch up the button functions again? hopefully they will finally standardize that stuff.

I agree with Alfonso on the buttons…then again we have devs that can remap them for us. I like the idea of finally having a front facing camera. I still have a sore spot after the late/behind the industry updates to the X10…I don’t think I’m going to bet on SE in a phone fight anytime soon.

As much as I like my Xperia SO-01b, the industrial design of this hallon raspberry phone are not so appealing

answer these if you were born to a single dad.
1.do you know that samsung did nt even promise with its
galaxy s that they will provide 2.3 in the future during the launch of the phone but they are giving 2.3
2.do you know that htc didnt even promise to give 2.2,2.3 to all their devices but they are giving to their phones.
3.do you know that dell streak ,motorola updated tjeir phones to 2.2 and will provide 2.3 to some of their phones.
4.do you people know the value of money as you people kept huge price tag for your fucking phone.
AND NOW YOU MOTHER FUCKERS ARE SAYING THAT YOU DIDNT PROMISE FOR 2.2 DURING THE LAUNCH OF THE PHONE,WHY THIS RULE IS APPLICABLE TO YOU.

u will not get any answer from SE here . but u have reason to be happy cause ur X10 work good , but my X2 is VERY VERY BAD phone , my X2 not work even as JAVA phone . and i will not buy again SE phone .

When SE said “we want to be the number one Android seller” what I think they meant was they want to sell as much quantity of mid range phones and not the Number one top rated Android device. It looks like there just launching as many android devices as they came get out of the factory. some current non SE devices are better than forth coming top spec SE devices.

Htc guys are rocking and i think HTC is the top android and windows based company in the world..htc start its business with the collaboration O2 , jasjar and now HTC is big brand .

SE needs to stop building different kinds of Android phones and release just 2 in a given year (high-end and economical) with a lot of software and accessory support. Xperia needs to have some sort of direct phone-to-tv connectivity wirelessly or via data cable.
guys please open your eyes it’s true that I prefere my x10 to my syster’s galaxy s but the lack of multitouch and the version of android are big problems I really want to switch for one of those 3 SE phones but if it means having the ancient samsung like update (se’s promises aren’t respected since 2009) I won’t take any of those
the menu in the first picture remind me of x10mini’s one will it supporte the 4 corner UI ?

go engineer your own phone if you think we’re bad, think it’s easy, let’s see you make a phone that runs at least a 1.5 android system. Bet you can’t even do it in 2 years, by then, people will have android 5.x.

What’s the problem with all you kids and children?? SE are releasing new devices with multi touch and 2.3 android! This means you will get the latest and greatest technology ( software + hardware).
So please grow up and get a life, if you don’t like se phones go for samsung or lg or even don’t buy any phone, I couldn’t care less really! Yes we know that many of you are angry because SE were slow with their android devices but now things will change, just wait and see.
And yes at least SE are kind enough to upgrade to 2.1 and maybe 2.2 in the future. moto and samsung still have devices with 1.5 and 1.6 !! So believe me no one is perfect.

the htc magic (g2) which was on 1.6 but last week htc released direct 2.2 android update for htc magic ..now htc hero is also going to update..and legent update of 2.2 is out
even htc wildfire update 2.2 is out in uk and soon in other countries..
so let me tell you all sony guys ur programmer are really dump..and u sony eric guy only wana make profits by selling new new phone..your not interested in giveing support to ur older customer which is hard sony lover…but now a days ur loosing your royal customer…

phone companies are putting too many phones out in a year now and then considering the software for the future would makle more sense to do what apple do create one phone a year hype it up and not lose concentration on software makes less hassle and more time to sort out dodgy software problems.

I am really excited about the upcoming Xperia models. Especially Anzu. Hopefully it will be shipped with Android 2.3. By the way If you want to be always up to date with new Android versions go and get a Nexus S. I have used Nexus one for 6 months and I got Froyo at the end of May. All of the other phone manufacturers work at least 2-3 Months until they update their phones to new Android versions. So? So SE rules:)
