    What’s the big thing?????

  3. Hi!

This only works with custom XDA ROM? Or it works also for 2.1 eclair for SE?

    Thanks!

  4. It works with nordic 2.1

but it doesn’t work with maps and the default browser, it works great on all the other apps.

  5. People, im saying this step by step in great detail
    1. Download both files and extract them. You should get Dualtouch and flashtool folder.
    2. Copy the whole dualtouch folder
    3. Go into flashtool folder, then into firmwares folder (it should be empty) and paste dualtouch folder in there.
    4. Execute X10FlashTool application, should say:
    19/051/2011 22:51:27 – INFO – <- This level is successfully initialized
    19/051/2011 22:51:27 – INFO – Starting adb service
    5. turn off the phone
    6. click connect (top left corner) , check x10 (do not press OK)
    7. connect the usb link with phone and computer while pressing the back key
    8. click OK on the screen when green led lights, should get:
    20/054/2011 01:54:11 – INFO – <- This level is successfully initialized
    20/054/2011 01:54:11 – INFO – Starting adb service
    20/057/2011 01:57:23 – INFO – start

    20/057/2011 01:57:34 – INFO – Phone successfully connected on loaders\X10.sin

Something like that, not sure if its exactly but it should end with " Phone successfully connected on loaders\X10.sin"

    9. click flash (next to connect button) , check dualtouch, ok, you should get:
    20/057/2011 01:57:46 – INFO – Start Flashing…
    20/057/2011 01:57:46 – INFO – Flashing kernel.sin

20/057/2011 01:57:46 – INFO – Now unplug the device and power it on
20/057/2011 01:57:46 – INFO – Then go to application settings
20/057/2011 01:57:46 – INFO – turn on Unknown Sources and Debugging

    10. if finished unplug the cable and turn on the phone

  6. followed your guide and got same flash log, after power back on again dual touch is not there, is anything to do with “20/057/2011 01:57:34 – INFO – ### read failed : checksum err! FFFFFFFF!=00000000”, or should I turn off Unknown Sources and Debugging first, flash then turn back on? Please help!!

  7. Ok, testing in other programs only works in angry birds and Acrobat, no mediascape, browsers (Skyfire, Miren Browser, Stock Browser) google maps. i test it dual touch with Multitouch Visualizer from the market and works with 2 points, no more.

  8. Guys and gals,
i dont mean to be funny but the wee cleverclogs over at xda have
released a 2.2 froyo rom with a working camera (just still pics, no cam corder at the mo) AND a flash to add the dual touch functionality to it too…

the bad news is im gonna be up late reflashing ma x10 lol

  9. Ok, i have flashed the file in a X10 Generic ROM 2.1 2.0.2.A.0.24 and i got dual touch in other applications but not in maps, browser, media scape :S is this normal ?

  10. Just to let everyone know, some stock apps do not work with Dual-Touch, as the ROM’s were made before dual-touch was released. Any releases after today should include dual-touch for ALL applicable stock apps

  11. So, do we waint until xda release the rooted version of the complete firmware with dual touch support ?

  12. Zdzihu has just release Beta 2 of his FROYO from that has CAMERA SUPPORT! No video camera, but still, good enough for 90% of us I’m sure. Dual touch works great on it.

  13. Hey guys and gals!

just got done flashing and hacking my x10i..

and ive now got an x10 running 2.2 froyo, with a working camera (no camcorder as of yet) AND the new dual touch functionality which is quite nice 🙂

i found it works in google maps, the gallery, the browser and angry birds 🙂
those are the only things ive tried so far not sure what else i could test 🙂

but just a quick post to confirm its working, at least with my phones setup 🙂

ps : wheres fact is fact? lol shouldnt he be here goin on with himself or something? lol

  14. @TylerDurden (ps) LMAO!
FiF is Sorry Errorson’s unpaid Caped Crusader. I believe he may also be reason pink handsets are offered. He will probably only post when S.E. gets flamed a few times our if Martha shows up.

  15. @ =NoXiouS=

lol as im sure LOTS and lots of users here know of him/her/it lol
seen him a while ago during the 2.1 update debacle then caught
random glimpses of him here there and everywhere lol

think he got flamed rather bad in a different thread lolz

anyway! im of to sleep! gotta get up for work in the mornin
and spend the day playing with my x10 2.2 DT 🙂
must say if only sony had of knocked out the x10
in the condition the xda gang has now gotten it up to
imo it would have been a killer phone,

as with all the hackin ive done on it, (thanks to the xda gang)
im rather happy with it now 🙂

(god i think im turnin into an xda fanboy… better check to see if they have any posters i can hang up in ma bedroom lol)

good luck everyone! catch ya’ll tomorrow on the bus ride to work!

  16. woow after the update my phone rocks! SE is truly the best. Fu* you retarded people who speak bad about the company. I will recommend se products for all my family and friends for sure.

  17. Any idea?? Ii always fail when I want to update from 504 to 24 .all of the lvls go right but when it reboot it says fail to update

  18. guys is camera bug fixed on custom?? wat all things r still not working on custom rom?? plzz help!!

    thanks!! xda rocks!!

  19. sony, meet the x10 XDA devs, give em ur jobs, ur money, ur wife and kids…. or just watch out, cuz if u do not become as fast and hardworking as them, ull eventually lose all the above anywayz. ^^

  20. @bandit

Are you soft in the head? SE have consistently lied to their customers about this phone and have now ended support for it after 9 months after promising to support it for 2 years. They said the phone isn’t capable of multitouch / dual touch – yet here it is. SE haven’t relased this update to the world XDA have. SE won’t be releasing a 2.2 update – XDA have though. I am guessing you’ll be mug enough to keep supporting them on their new phones (which will again be dropped less than a year after release) and if you are then more fool you. I for one won’t be giving another penny to them.

  21. I have a o2 UK branded x10i with android 2.1 (2.0.A.0.504)… I have just flashed it and played angry birds and I can confirm that this add-on works fine for stock x10i’s which are without a custom ROM. The Dual-Touch function does not work with “Google Maps” for some reason, or the stock Android browser, but other third-party apps like “Angry Birds”, “Opera Mini”, “Splinter Cell: Conviction”, “GT Racing: Motor Academy” and so on and so on… If you guys want, go ahead and give it a try…

P.S. THIS IS DESIGNED FOR CUSTOM ROM’S SO DO NOT EXPECT IT TO WORK PERFECT ON THE STOCK ONES, BUT IF YOU WANT TO HAVE DUAL-TOUCH UNTIL SE RELEASES IT FOR UK CUSTOMERS (AND EVEN LONGER FOR THE BRANDED ONES) USE THIS ADD-ON… YOU CAN STILL UPDATE YOUR PHONE, WHEN THE OFFICIAL SE UPDATE IS RELEASED, SO FEEL FRE TO DOWNLOAD THIS ADD-ON 🙂

  22. i failed for at least 3 times
then i realise i just unrar flashtool instead of install it
    for those who failed
install the flashtool by double clicking it first
    and follow those steps
and the green bar will at the bottom will move
but it won’t if u hav done sth wrong
    GOOD LUCK

  23. @ Andy C

Some moron is using my name, probably factisfact.

SE sucks ass, no question about it. They are simply the WORST phone company right now. I don’t think anyone else is this bad. Not even LG, they seem to have some decent phones with proper support. Shame on you SE you disgrace.

  24. @Bandit

For an SE hater you seem to be sticking around in the SE community, you have got to get over your relationship with SE. Now that i’m thinking about it you sound like my ex!

  25. Guys,

Im abit lost with the step. I have a X10i which is running on firmware version 2.1, build number 2.0.2.A.0.24. I tried running the flashtool and connect the phone. But i don’t seems to get any response from the flashtool. I can’t find any connect button on flashtool. Do i need to connect with the phone off and press the back key while connecting the USB link with flash tool running? I’m lost…someone pls help…

  26. @ssyup

By the sounds of things yea you need to connect your x10 in flash mode

Switch it off and connect it to your pcbs while. Holding the back button 🙂

  27. Does anybody has news about the ghostly dual touch update???
It look like the 2.1 update, announced in september release in december.
OMG,, why these sucker of SE do always use these fake announcement effect, maybe they want us to forget/forgive them because they abandonned us 8months after the release of the x10.. they sick

  28. Well, i finished this process as informed above. It rebooted ok, but then… the touchscreen is NOT working at all!

    Could anyone help me?

    cheers

  29. @ Gustavo

how are you getting on? have you got your phone back up and running or you still having trouble?

the easy way to get your phone back to normal is to reinstall via seus (sony ericcson update service) then you can go from there 🙂
