Xperia X10 bootloader finally unlocked

Cracked X10The bootloader of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has finally been unlocked by the crew over at xda-developers. It was unlocked by using a bug in the Qualcomm security encryption.

the_laser revealed the encryption key (thanks to “maxrfon”) which means they can now directly access the bootloader without having to try and bypass it. the_laser is also saying that he will provide a way for users to sim-unlock their phones for free given this latest development. Hopefully, it won’t take too long for the devs to provide a bootloader unlock for everyone to download.

    FORGET THEIR GARBAGE 2.3. NO WAY I’M PUTTING UP WITH THEIR SHIT AGAIN. NOW THAT THE BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED, SE CAN CONTINUE KISSING MY ASS WHILE I LOAD SOME REAL ROMS ON THE X10 UNTIL IT’S REPLACED BY A REAL PHONE.

    The bootloader is the part of the phone that loads the SE approved Android firmware and (should) stop any and all attempts of making the phone run other firmwares not certified by SE.

    In reality, having a unlocked bootloader means the folks over at xda can release firmware for our phones without the need of hacking and modifying SE firmwares, meaning they can deliver the latest Gingerbread firmware without bugs and problems, clean, without any SE files. Or in the future, deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich update to our X10 phones. Or make our phone run Symbian, or Windows Phone 7.

    Now the fun begins!

  21. does this make it possible for the x10 to boot into stock android, the way google intended the OS to be? also does an unlocked boot loader make full multi-touch possible or will we be stuck with “dual” touch

    The lazer has nothing to do with SE bootloader, he is not even a developer, just a support person at some tool they sell. He saw us releasing new software to unlock x10 and became jealous that his crone was gone far and decided to make a tale about “revealing” something.
    All the job was done by our company and it does not contain ANY discover 🙂 Money do wonders in this world, so it did once again.

  34. Just to confirm, the_laser has nothing to do with maxrfon, he is just trying to make his name heard. maxrfon only had intentions in finding a way to simunlock and managed to unlock the bootloader.

  35. hmm…i don’t know if my argument is valid…but:
    i have a cyanogen mod on my x10…but it dont works correctly at all…

    – no zoom in camera
    – no flash
    (for both i downloaded vigniette)
    – and my mms pin get kicked out…and i cant retype tht fu**

    Just because he hasnt actually been in the Android scene does not mean that he isnt a developer.

    As you can see in our research and development section, he is a very active developer right from when Sony and Ericsson merged together: http://forums.se-nse.net/forum/76-research-development/

    Se-tool box is his own software. As you can see, occasionally he let paid stuff become free (example: setool2lite and A2 Uploader). Mainly his biggest (commercial) rival is cruiser, who are trading as Omnius for now.

    No, of course he isnt a dev; he just done a lot of work for the SE community, and managed to leak pictures of the X10 before anyone else

    Maxrfon says his is going to release EVERYTHING he has (not just with the X10)…

    I am not about to continue the discussion, but what i tell you shouldn’t surprise you – with full SE phones sources and qualcomm’s chipsets sources, even a fool would be the GOD of SE, which is actually so.
    I, having Nothing at all, but my own knowledge, made all current solutions i sell. So android/non android – does no matter. The brain is what matters. And pls agree, would a normal person disclose a secret on public? no, only an idiot will do it. Why? Because he thinks he is the God of SE. And pls take a look, what is going on? No dongles working anymore and no more the GOD of SE 🙂 Easy proof.
