China Mobile says X10 Gingerbread update coming next week

China Mobile A quick heads-up to let you know that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 may be imminent. According to CNMO, the update will be hitting China Mobile next week. If true, this is likely to mean it will also release in many other regions at the same time. Not too long to find out…

    By the time se do update x10 you will have patrol station between your legs. I dont thing so is good idea to wait for update to 2.3.3. We dont which year that gonna be.

  51. it will be out soon, when x10 users gave their x10s up.. so not much of a problem for se. less user, less whining. Lets just wait for the great devs at xda create a 2.3.3 ROM that will kick Rikard’s release. im planing to get the xperia arc this week and keep my x10 and wait for some awesome ROM coming out in the future.

  54. So the update is only available to stock X10s that have not be customized by a carrier? I’m with Roger’s from Canada. Will I beable to upgrade to Gingerbread?

  55. @allen8427 No, you won’t. At least not right away. There may be some carrier branded phones that will get the update, Rogers may be one. Just debrand if your carrier doesn’t get it.

    Hurry up Sony!!! Now the new market is out for 2.2+ handsets and I cant get it, I’m dyin here!!! The new market looks and works waaaaayyyy better than this crappy green one with the carousel. I like the OLD market better but it always auto updates itself to this green carousel crap.

    All generic trade kits (and some customizations) of Xperia X10 is getting a 2.3 update. The roll out will start within a week but it might be a bit different for all the markets.
    Xperia X8 is however not getting an update past 2.1.

The software will be rolled out continuously, just like the earlier 2.1 release. The exact launch date is depending on market and operators approval, so it will unfortunately not be possible to give precise information on launch dates for each market/operator. You will get more information once the roll out has started.”

    …so it could be available any day. Keep in touch with your local teams for more specific information since I probably won’t get any more market specific info than this.
