XDA to the rescue – Xperia X10a owners can now get Android 2.1

Xperia X10a owners can now get Android 2.1
Whilst many in Europe are rejoicing about finally getting hands-on with the Android 2.1 Xperia X10 update, spare a thought for those running X10a handsets (typically in North America) with no sign of an update on the horizon. Step forward the guys over at xda-developers who have been continuing their sterling work by releasing a flash tool that allows X10a owners to load the Eclair update.

The flash tool only works on Xperia X10 handsets and not the X10 mini family and nor the Xperia X8. The great thing is that 3G works with no problems once the update is completed. You can find the full instructions here. If you don’t want to wait on Sony Ericsson to release the Android 2.1 update, the guys over at xda have provided a real alternative for any X10 owner globally. Kudos to them.

  1. i tried doing the steps on my AT&T x10a and i click on ‘x10flash.bat’ and do its steps but as soon as i put my phone in flash mode, plug it in and ‘press any key’ the ‘x10flash.bat’ window goes away and doesnt do anything else! why is that?

  2. Got it, but Its REEEEAAAAALLYYYY LAGGY, is it only my x10??
anyone else having the same issues?

  3. Rogers X10a. Works. Been using for 3 hours now, everything works (3g, EDGE, ect.).

First thing I noticed, keyboard input is MUCH better, Dialing is easier, timescape faster, everything else still sucks.

  4. @marazao In the beginning the update takes it time to recognize itself in your phone thats why it’s laggy. I live in sweden and we guys got the update first 😉

  5. So by doing this, I will lose my warranty? How much longer would I have to wait for the Canadian release?

  6. Yep, followed the instructions this afternoon on my Rogers X10a, and everything worked amazingly. Just follow gfgodoy’s instructions in post #3. Things seemed laggy after the initial install and root, but I rebooted and that appears to have cleared everything up.

Only issue I’ve come across is that I can’t enable WiFi, as it always states it’s unable to do so, and then shuts it off.

  7. Please, the first brazilian guy updating the Xperia X10a to Android 2.1, post the operator and update date for reference.

    Thanks!

  8. I have rogers – So this takes it from 1.6 to 2.1? why does he say “(old 1.6 Firmware can not be flashed with this at the moment”?

  9. Tried to do, followed steps. using x10a and vista 64 bit. as soon as my phone goes into flash mode it says i need drivers.. so frustrating. any ideas? thanks.

  10. Hi adhoniran.
I’m in same situation. As soon as possible someone put infos… My operatior is OI and my cell phone is X10a, no brand (R1FB001) Base Version 1.0.21 FW 1.6.
Early this morning I called up to Brazilian Sony Support and I herad “all phones will update by the time. But doesn’t a final date or time limit for update. Wait for update information if showing up on your display”. So… Nothing to do. Only wait, wait and wait. Or take advantage from XDA flash utility.
    Morpheus.

  11. Hey Guys

Through XDA I was able to upgrade to 2.1…..I had the Generic LAM firmware (unbranded) from before….Only problem is that is a little big laggy while scrolling through the apps and the 3g/H switching back and forth other then that works great….Again thanks XDA

  12. @Pax: to get the driver you have to put your phone in bootloader using SEUS first..like when you update, after youjust cancel the update.

  13. so i tried like 20 times ( no joke). even on SEUS it wont go into flash mode. im ready to throw this thing out the window….@saltorio i too and on the rogers network. what did you do to make it work? grrr. someone please help.

  14. While the efforts of XDA are truly appreciated (They get more than than SE does in month) I’d advise you asswits not to flash, debrand, or mess with your phone in any way that might brick it for good, forget about losing warranty. And for what? To get 2.1, a garbage update, 2 days sooner?

Be patient. Morons at SE will eventually release 2.1 for the rest of us and we can move on with our lives, this shitty phone, and a lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN SONY ERICSSON, NEVER AGAIN.

  15. Hello all. I just did this update and I will tell you my experience on how I did this process.

I went to the xda website and followed their instructions on how to install. It is quite easy to do.

I don’t have a windows pc, I have Ubuntu and Mac. On my Mac, I used a program called vmware fusion(windows emulator for Mac). I have a 32 version of windows xp and this worked fine for this process. I am also a Rogers customer and I live in Canada and my phone is an x10a.

You download both files that the links provide, you should get a small zip file as well as a rar file that is over 100 mb. Make sure you also have winrar installed and just to be sure, go to java.com and install the newest version of java. I had to since when I tried this at first, I had a java error.

After I downloaded the files, I extracted the small zip file (thats where the program is) to my desktop in a folder on its own. When you look in the folder, there is also a folder inside that says firmware. This is where you extract the rar file to. Make sure that all the contents of the rar file goes into this folder. Now, after that is done, double click on the .bat file. This should get the process rolling.

When you double click on it, a small terminal window will appear. It will ask you what version of windows you are using. In my case, I selected number one since I am using a 32bit version of windows. It will then prompt you to put your phone in the update mode. I think we all know how to do that but, you turn your phone off completely, make sure the usb cord is disconnected hold the back button down. Keep holding the back button and connect the usb. Make sure that windows does see that you have connected the device. You should hear a sound that something has connected to your computer. release the back button and the small window is waiting for you to press any button to proceed.

Hit any button and you should see a lot of command lines flash across the terminal window. Saying the time, continue, finish, stuff like that. This is normal. DO NOT TOUCH THE PHONE AT THIS POINT! It will take some time. It takes around 8 minutes or so.

When it is all finished, the window will tell you that it is done. You will know for sure when it is done when it is not creating any more lines of information. You can disconnect the usb at this point and turn your phone on by holding down the button on the top if it does not automatically turn on by disconnecting the usb.

Here is the part that scared me. When my phone turned back on, I did see the Sony Ericsson logo (Just the words) followed by a picture of a camera with a blue arrow down onto a picture of a x10. This is normal. I thought I did it wrong and I bricked my phone but, I gave it a few minutes, then a nice animation followed and a Sony Ericsson logo popped on the screen and the phone proceeded to the lock screen.

Everything was working fine at this point but I did notice that it was a bit slow at times. Clicking around and things like that were a bit slow but seems to have gone away after a little bit of use.

I can confirm that if you had a backup done with the software, it is a good idea to reload that when you start up for the first time after this process. Also, re sync your contacts if you have done it before with the Sony sync program or google.

What I have tried so far, I had to re-download all the third party programs I had from the market but that is no big deal. If you have used the sync programs with your windows computer, you should have a backup anyway.

The data for this is a bit strange. Sometimes I have 3g and sometimes I don’t. If you watch the top of your phone while browsing you can see it switch from 3g to H. I am not sure why but it isn’t all that bad.

I like the new contacts, all my facebook and twitter contacts are now in phone book (Nice feature) also merged with my regular contacts as well. Timescape is faster and auto-scrolls for long messages in the panel you select to read.

My favourite feature is the double tap in web pages. This is what I wanted the most. You don’t have to zoom in on a section you don’t want to read anymore, just double tap.

Timescape and Mediascape are both faster than before. The greatest part is now since you are able to record 720p video with the camera, you can also watch it. I downloaded a couple music videos from youtube at 720p and are mp4 files and they both played perfectly. I made sure I picked one that would push it for quality and bitrate (Alejandro by Lady Gaga).

Before you ask everyone, There is no multitouch. NONE. Nothing. No 3 finger input, no double touch and NO third party program that uses it. There is also NO 16m Colour. No way to hack it (that I know of) to activate either of these features. Take it from me.

I love the new features and the video and double tap are a great addition to the device and it feels like I have a brand new phone. Granted no features that most people were screaming form the rooftops for but it is not a deal breaker for me.

I am happy to have 2.1 and I didn’t have to wait. Thank you to everyone at xda for making this work for everyone with an x10a.

    Agree

dont want to lose the warranty

  17. Thanks for XDA for your efforts. If I was the CEO of Sony Ericsson I would have hired you and made you senior engineers. The fact you cracked the bootloader of 2.1 less than 13 hours is amazing, and now you made an update available for the world who have an X10a. Great Job, Keep up the great work, and God Bless.

  18. How would you loose your warranty? Just reflash back to the carrier fw if you need to turn your phone in for warranty purposes. You can always flash back to an old 1.6 fw if need be.

Also to clear up any confusion this method should work on all x10’s be it x10a or x10i. Does not work on x8, x10mini, or x10mini pro!!!

  19. @Astroplus i keep getting that java error n i have ne latest version of java… 🙁 what am i doin wrong?

  20. i keep getting this ‘java’ is not recognized as an internal command, operable program or batch file. how do i change that?

  21. @T-Charm

Hmmm, what version of windows are you using? Are you using a full fledged version of windows (as in a non emulated version like on a Mac or Linux)? I would say the best thing to do is, go to java.com and reinstall. When you go to the website, there should be a big red button to download and install. Restart your computer and give it another go. That’s is what I had to do. Reinstall Java and restart.

Give that a shot just in case.

  22. @Astroplus
Is possible to check if is there Brazilian Portuguese language as option language on settings / text and location?
Maybe as showing as “Português (Brasil)”.
    Thanks a lot.
    Morpheus.

  23. @Morpheus

I did look under languages and I can tell you that it does have the portugues Brazil. Looks like your language is supported.

    @T-Charm

I think you got me on that one. If you reinstalled Java and restarted and its still giving you the same error, then I am not sure. If I were you I would go to the xda website and sign up and ask them. They would know better than me since they are the people who came up with this. Sorry bud. They did mention something about users using windows vista or later to disable a feature. I can’t remember what that is. I would check that out. That may solve your problem.

  24. @Astroplus
    Thanks…
I’m wondering to do this x10a to x10i change. I will wait for 24h… If Sony doesn’t come up with update, this XDA procedure will be executed.

  25. @T-Charm
Go to command line (CMD) and type JAVA so press [ENTER].
If works, it means that java is installed and working.
So go to x10flash folder and run java -jar X10flash.jar
    My scenario: C:\X10Flash-2.1>java -jar X10flash.jar

if ends and shows this results, Java works.

    at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(Unknown Source)
    at X10flash.main(X10flash.java:389)

    HINTS:
Try to put files under root from C drive (like c:\x10Flash)
    Try to turn of UAC.
Open SESU and start update, to put phone in Flash Mode and start to install drivers (cancel after drivers were installed)
    I hope that works.
    CYA!

  26. @Morpheus
yeah when i type java in the CMD i still get the same error 🙁 i think something is wrong wit my java.. 🙁

  27. to the people who have X10a but went ahead and flashed X10i firmware:

In your experience, did you notice that the phone has shorter battery life?

    mine seems to discharge faster.

the call volume seems louder though.

  28. @T-Charm
Edit bat (X10flash.bat), using a notepad, and change
    this
    java -jar X10flash.jar

    to this
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java” -jar X10flash.jar
    .

If this is the time between releasing their SHIT (KIT) just calculate the time of update getting in last country..

If I get a chance…. I wuld hv thrown my shit on ur ugly face u fuckin SE

  30. @T-Charm

    OS:
    Windows 7 64bit
I’d have to uninstall Java 64 and install Java 32
So I needed to change this line:

    @java -jar X10flash.jar

    To

    @”C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe” -jar X10flash.jar

    Works fine.

  31. Flash finished right now. So… I’ll take a look on all changes…

I have an xperia x10 from CLARO (Brazil) and still wait for the update, but it seems that it will be realsed at the end of november. I won’t wait that much, and I’ll try to do the update by XDA. I’m glad to know that brazilian language is suported. 🙂 . Have any of you tried to do the update?

  40. @T-Charm

Cool… You figure out that APN was empty. This same scenario happened here. So… I copy info from my operator (from my wife phone – heheh) and works fine.

  42. Hi, i have an experia X10 from Movistar, Chile. Here it seems like the update will be available like in december. I’m disappointed, so i want to update my phone, its X10a but i don’t know if it is a little bit risky… i had a w580 and i did a lot of crap with it and the warranty was fine. But this phone is way too much for screw it. Please if anybody knows if it’s fine to do it, let me know and i’ll do the update. Thanks 😀

  44. I already downloaded the files but I’m creating up the courage to install on my X10a. I’m awaiting more information on the official update of TIM in Brazil.

  45. i swear i read somewhere if you flash your x10a to a x10i you will no longer get any updates via the SEUS?

  46. Just followed the directions, now i am enjoy Android 2.1 on my Xperia X10a from Rogers in Canada!

    I can finally use WhatsApp!

  47. @spidey
    hey bro u just go
    settings/wireless & networks/mobile networks/access point names

then hit menu n just type in the info that i pasted above 🙂

  48. @GaryIT – you just get H. Because the X10i works on different frequencies than the X10a, and Rogers doesn’t have 3g coverage in that frequency range.

I’ll be flashing back to X10a when the official Rogers version is out.

For now the 2.1 features are nice to test out. Overall it doesn’t seem too different other than the obvious cosmetic changes. The phonebook seems more laggy than before, probably due to the fb integration and whatnot. Timescape seems much faster though. I’ve kind of ditched mediascape now that I can use winamp.

Wireless and bluetooth seem to clash more than they used to, I can barely get music to play over Bluetooth while using the wireless.

  49. I am looping through the sony ericsson spiral colour animation after my flash for a half hour. I worry im going to kill the battery and brick the phone. It just won’t load! please help.

  50. I’ve managed to gather my senses. All is not lost as I first suspected. My phone is looping through two loading screens – the sony ericsson text (1.6 loading screen) – then the sony ericsson globe animation(2.1 loading screen). (like some one pouring koolaid coloured bile into thier logo) the only interuption i get is the ability to power the phone down in a breif window after the 2.1 loading screen. I have the ability to charge the battery via USB. Also discovered i can activate the flash mode. *whew* thought i just flushed 700 bucks.

Now my options are to reflash w/ 2.1 or flash back to the original firmware, 1.6.
For you itchy F#<K3r5 needing the 2.1 like a crack head looking for shiny stones downtown east side – heed my experience and the wisdome of X10USERS comments. Maybe wait for the official update. Consider this, you've likely waited as many days as there are hours left to wait. Also – should any one have directions so i could find 1.6 for my x10 SE (souless empty) phone, i'd appreciate it like the Toronto leafs would appreciate the Stanley Cup.

  58. Hi All,
Any difference between this version and the Nordic version? apart from the obvious spelling lol

  59. My final questions,

If i flash my phone from X10a to X10i 2.1 , will i ever be able to downgrade to X10a 1.6?
Can we set the 3G settings manually on the X10i (apn adress ,etc etc) , and would it work that way?

    thanks

  60. @ T-Charm,

Thanks bud, worked like a charm.
Man this update is so cool, almost like getting a brand new phone!

    Have fun folks..

  61. @newbie x10
Nobody can tell you weather or not you should do it but I would venture to say that, having just completed it that it doesn’t really have much chance to fail. Its almost risk free. And you can always flash to your official update when it becomes available of that bothers you.

Just got done playing around with it and can’t help but love it. It was really simple once I got the java thing to work like its supposed to. It only took me about 3 minutes to actually flash it then just waiting for the phone to recognize it. And yes the camera with an arrow pointing to the x10 is exactly what you should get on first boot up.

  62. Thanks, i’m just doing it, ut i figured that i was missing usb drivers D:!, so it didn’t recognize my phone D:!. Question, it’s necessary to remove SD and Sim?

  63. It doesn’t work, i plug my phone on flash mode and it stays in Seaching for Xperia… and then the phone turns on. Please help!

  64. Newbie X10 first of all you need to install Update Software from Sony, know as SEUS. This software will install the drivers for flash mode. Enter in the website and click for support then look for update software.
After that the xda method gonna work, okay.

  65. Obrigado XDA, segui passo-a-passo o tutorial e vejam só, estou com meu X10a Brasil rodando 2.1 beleza e roteado ainda!!!!
    Obrigado!!!!!!!!!
    Vocês são os melhores, excelência!!
    Abraços!!!

  66. Finally, i couldn`t wait any more

so i try to flash it in windows 7 32bit …surprise ..didnt work
    second try…old win xp 32 bit….works!!!

Here is what you have to do

Install SEUS and try to update your phone , Why? you need the flash mode drivers.

    Download the firmware ,etc

    Download the last java edition

    Run the bat file

    Select your OS

Put your phone on flash mode (wait for a green light), then press enter again

    Wait until it ends!

    Unplugg USB

    Turn on and that is!

  67. @ Victor

Yes it is functional on the x10 mini, they have their own x10 mini sub forum on the xda developers site and you can download the flashtoo and firmware there. There is no need to root the phone and it’s very easy just choose the right firmware for your mini i.e e10i/e10a.

  68. Here in brazil with Vivo (operator from Brazil)
    Everything works fine

    3g and HDSPA works fine.
GPS works fine and now with google maps navigation.
Bluetooth works with imac.( Yesterday in my first attempt i´ve sent files from mac to x10, but not the reverse. In this morning I turned on the bluetooth sharing in the preference system, and now it´s possible to send files from the X10 to mac.)
    Wifi perfect working

    The changes:

    – HD recording awesome
    – 5 homescreens great and with live wallpapers ( First time turned on was bit slow but after 5 minutes of usage, the device became faster)
    – New lock screen is very cool
    – The baterry life seems improved ( this is very important)

  71. @ Fernando …

  73. @AT&T USER

My xperia x10 was bought unlocked online, it was a global generic version. After the update it says “H” instead of 3G as well. I did a speed test, there’s no different in previous speed and current internet speed. The “H” merely stood for HSPA, which is actually a more accurate description of what the phone is using to go online. So don’t worry there, nothing’s wrong with your phone

  74. Hi, I tried installing 2.1 software through xda, unfortunately there’s cmd screen which comes up and shows searching Xperia X10, and the curson goes on search, but in never does…plz help..m from… Xperia X10i user…

  75. !! if you flash X10a firmware on X10i or X10i on X10a is enough to flash the correct firmware again and you device is back to his original condition

  76. Hi everyone.

I’ve just flashed back to the original rogers firmware.

SEUS seems to recongnize the phone again and it updated to the current version of 1.6.

I used this firmware file: http://hotfile.com/dl/43225669/598add6/a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK.zip.html

    With this flash tool: http://hotfile.com/dl/44983907/9d54b5e/XIOFUB.rar.html

Step1: Download both files and extract them to a directory.
1.2: Extract the folders “android_1233-6929_R11A_R1FA014″ and “phone” from the already extracted “a_WWE_R1FA014_DEK”

    Step2: In the folder “android_1233-6929_R11A_R1FA014″
    -Rename: “system_S1-SW-LIVE-AC12-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin” to> “system.sin”
    -Rename: “userdata_S1-SW-LIVE-AC12-0001-S1-PARTITION-WITH-SPARE.sin” to> “userdata.sin”

Step3: Copy all files in “phone” and “android_1233-6929_R11A_R1FA014″ into the directory of the other file that was downloaded: “XIOFUB\X10Flash_Unbrick”
-overwrite all files located in this directory when prompted.
Step4: Find your device ID and place it in the DeviceID.txt file. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces.
    4.1: To find device ID:
4.1.1: press start and search “regedit”
4.1.2: click edit>find, and type in “Vid_0fce&Pid_adde”. You should find “DeviceInstance”. Copy the last section of that, it should look something like “5&2888d0ff&0&1″
4.1.2.1: If that fails to see anything, make sure “Match whole string” is un-ticked, and click “find next”, if that fails, try “USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE”
**Note: It changes with every diffrent USB port you use

Step5: Run X10flash.bat, Connect phone in flash-mode(with phone powered off, hold back key then plug cable in), once the notification light turns on you have 5 seconds to start the flash or the phone will continue to boot. The process takes a minute or two to complete(similar to flashing it to 2.1 in the first place).
Step6: Unplug cable and boot phone, it will take a while to boot the first time.
Step7: Plug in the cable, start SEUS. Follow the steps to get the latest rogers firmware.
Step8: Use phone… root it if you want to?

  77. I also have the AT&T one and did the flashing to the X10i. Everything works pretty well including the “3G” which I don’t use much anyways because of the crappy data plan that AT&T has now. While on the office I created a Virtual Hotspot on my network connection and the phone taps into that one.

All I can say is that this was a worthy update.

I’ve found some annoying things, not enough to go back to the X10a1.6 just yet (I will once the formware for N.A. is ready). For instance, the ATT App to check your balance, etc doesn’t work. I do miss the “Work Email” app (I was used to it), however I do like the Moxier as well. Also, for some odd reason, the phone weeks waking up (lighting up the screen) while charging and any notification happens (receive an email, sms, etc) however, it never goes back to sleep (I have the timeout set @ 15 sec), unless you press the power button.

Other that that, I’m pretty happy with the upgrade and the fact that the flashing got rid of all the crappy “un-installable unless you root” things from AT&T.

  78. Hi, i did the updaqte to 2.1 by flash. I have a few questions if someone please can answer me.
I think that battery is getting lower faster than with 1.6, i used to kill running apps with Free Advanced Task Manager, and i open it in 2.1 and i see a lot of things running, and when they’re finished, they startup again and again. I also use Startup Auditor, so i wanna ask, Wich are the applications that are importan to start the phone?, i ask this because i manage some apps, and mediascape was shutting down by itself a quite long time. Another question, You also have problems with de web browser, the default?, it also shuts down automatically and no reason. And the last question, Any Bluetooth Issue?, today i tried to send something, and it never happens. Please if someone is so kind, i’d appreciate that.

  79. @GaryIT
Tnx for the info, I really appreciate it. The update is great, the only issue so far I have is the fact that my 3G is missing, I mean it comes on for lil bit but then I see this “H” on top instead of 3G, however I have to say I haven’t notice any difference in speed “yet”.
Lets wait and see when this damn official update for ATT will come, for God Sake it’s end of the year already and we’re still waiting for 2.1, God knows when the 2.2 will come out….
    IF IT EVER COMES OUT…..

  80. @att user
Please read things more closely as in the xda thread it clearly explains that the “H” is in fact the same as 3g. And, you can flash back just do a little fishing around on xda site and the instructions are there if you do want to go back. I don’t really see the point because the att fw is so restricted but to each his own.

Sorry, that was not all directed at you I just get so annoyed with people that don’t do much reading on what they are doing before they do it. There seems to be a lot of that in here and throughout the web in general.

    @newbiex10
For me I think that the battery goes down just as fast when doing something but lasts a lot longer when the phone is in standby. I used to have the battery drain 20-25% on standby overnight and now it only drains 10-15% overnight.
As for your other problems I would blame your task killer I use advanced task killer only and I never have a problem. Some run in the background and close all kinds of things it thinks you don’t need. As for the programs reopening, they did that in 1.6 too.

  81. Can anyone tell me if the portuguese (Portugal) language, not the brazilian, is supported?

  82. Hi guys,

For those who had WIFI problems (I’m with Rogers Canada too). It is coming from the fact that you didn’t let the 2.1 installation came to end properly. Reflash and this time let the command windows finish (till it display ”press any key to continue”). I did it and wifi problems gone. The installation mark a pause (around a minute and a half) near the end of the install process and some in here says that you have to disconect your X10 when lines stop scrolling… In fact DON’T till ”press any key to continue”.

I flashed from a MacBook under Parallele Desktop (Vmachine) and windows vista 32bits (however i choose ”1” windows xp 32bits instead of ”3” vista/7 32bits).

    Enjoy!

  84. @Cody:
Tnx for ur info, I really appreciate it, the thing is that I my Internet keeps changing from 3G and H….it shows 3G when I’m not using Internet, but once I do it changes to H so that’s why I was confused!!!!
Other than that everything else works just fine, I hope 2.2 comes out soon!!! “Yea right”” lol

  85. Np. Tab id be surprised to see 2.2 from se at least. The first step for sea is cracking the bootloader. Im hoping someone can eventually do it even if I had to run vanilla I would.

  86. Hi
i’m in the process of rooting xperia x10 and i’m stuck in this GREEN LIGHT just going on and off, with nothing on screen and it wont turn on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP ME!!!!!

These are the steps i followed….but its just stuck green light blinking, and the dos command file from BINA4RY just closed up : download the two files listed by Binary
Put the extracted firmware in the firmware directory (along with loader.sin)(10 sin files together)
Open the .bat file (type in 1, 2 , 3 or 4 depending on your windows version).
It will ask you: Please plug Xperia in flash mode so,
Turn off your phone, press back and plug the usb cable! and Hit enter ( you should be quick, if you take to long it may not work, you have about 5 seconds. You know you are in flash mode because de GREEN LED on your X10 will stay ON)
Your device will stay with the screen off while flashing. The .bat will be running and running like mad for about 2-3 minutes. After that WAIT for windows to tell you that it has finished. Hit ENTER. The .bat WILL CLOSE.
On your device: Unplug your USB cable, wait for it to boot. I waited for like 2 minutes and nothing so I had to press POWER again.

&then no blue arrow on screen like it was supposed to!!!! what do i do????

  87. It worked for me here in Toronto, Canada.
X10a, Rogers network info had to be entered manually.
    Thanks XDA. 🙂

  88. Hello everyone!

  89. I flashed my xperia x10a to xperia x10i 🙂 unbranded and working fine. I just had to write down APN and then input it after it was all done. 😀 it works great 😀 and ROOTED too. Thanks to XDA Rogers Canada MB

  90. @dominic
Im not sure what the green flashing is but I would try flashing again and make sure the phone has been off for at least 30 seconds before putting it on flash mode.

  91. That’s great n wonderful…..BUT COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN IN NORMAL ENGLISH BECAUSE, I HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHAT THEYARE SAYINGVIN ANY OF IT,……YOU MAY AS WEL BE SPEAKING JAPANESE CUZ IT DOESNT Make sense at all, …ROOT…?…what is root, whydo you root, why do you have to root…..very lost
