I tell ee whart though, looking at the web page gives the casual viewer that it is an upgrade for the phone and not the PC.

I can't find how to do this. OK, I am noty too bright, so I phoned SE.

They could not tell me how to backup settings either. They also had no idea about any update, telling me that a new phone should not have or need an update.

Nigel, the X10 doesn't have any backup options out of the box, so don't worry you're not going mad. You can backup your contacts to the memory card if needed, but otherwise both MyBackup and Sprite Backup apparently back up system settings (I've not tried either).

Thanks X10! All backed up now - and phone updated via SE Update Service - took 20 minutes. Used MyBackup, but still had to re-enter pushed email such as hotmail and BTYahoo.

I was at the Rogers release party for this on April 12 and in talking to both the Sony Ericsson and Rogers reps they said that they were working on the 2.1 OS and getting TimeScape and MediaScape working within it. They also said that some "new features" would possibly be included.

I hope one of those is some form of remote play for PS3! I know they said "it makes sense" a while ago and with all the issue they've had with the Aino it would be nice to see.
