lost backup and restore with gingerbread update

today i installed the update for my phone and now can not access my contacts or messages or anything that i backed up. i am very frustrated because there was no warning that backup and restore would not work once updated. pleeeease can some one help me and plz explain it in a very simple way my head is killing i have been trying to figure out how to fix it for soooooooooooo many hours

This should solve that!

You'll need to...

Menu> Settings> Applications> tick "Unknown sources" to install, either download direct to your X10 and tap the file in downloads to install or use a file manager like Astro.

so i download ROMs: WB TW Gingerbread 2.3.3 v6c
Bootloader Unlocked with BootManager installed - Kernel : 2.6.29 DooMKernel v04b Overclock on my phone
