There are links on this forum for Flashtool, xRecovery, JIT v2 and you can clean (remove bloatware) and optimize using Flashtool.

If you really get stuck, I'll help.

On another note, I have no idea when GB will be released by SE so whether rooting your phone is worthwhile I couldn't say.
Also when SE released one of the 2.1 updates they patched the "rageagainstthecage" exploit used to gain root, obviously another exploit was discovered but SE may decide to patch this exploit for the 2.3.3 update. Although I doubt it as SE have stated that they are happy to support rooting of future generic SE phones?

Download Flashtool by Androxyde & Bin4ry, install on your PC, plug your X10 into via USB, run Flashtool and click "root".

Just curious what skinned xperia is???

I had cause to pull out my Canon Camera for some important shots and I remembered that I said I would post pics of my "skinned" X10.
Here are a few shots I took. (The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB. I guess I need to resize first :[ )

You will notice that I have also a downloaded shot displaying on the screen that creates the illusion of the skin covering the screen. I made sure to include a shot with my regular home screen displayed so that you can see the skin does NOT cover the screen
I really like this particular skin more than my last one because it has a 3D look to it. Many people see it and ask about what kind of phone it is.

So, what do you think about how this skin makes my X10 look These type of skins are available for virtually any phone available to consumers. While the skin doesn't offer as much protection as my Otterbox case; it doesn't change the size of it and allows the phone to easily slip in and out of my pocket.

Open FlashTool and press Root. Not really hard to press a button.
