yes yes, I have carried out as instructed and reverted back that after changing the extension to apk and when i install -- get a message "application not installed". Hence I am waiting for answers and if u can give me a link to read up -- wl equally help me.

(only thing is I changed the zip to apk in my xperia astro file manager)

If you can't seem to handle how to install an apk from outside Market. Then why don't you just find the application on Market and install it from there?

It was that I wanted to learn from the forum how to install an application which is in zipped folder.

Some of the programs I want is available outside the adroid market.

Your suggestion noted and will follow n thnks.

BTW, when I clicked on the link u gave, all the paid applications are being shown in uah (Ukraine currency). It might be bcos my ship is in black sea and using Ukraine provider. Is there way to see it in USD??

Guys..i just wanna tell you i've got the same problem. Here, lemme get things straight first:
I downloaded an application somewhere from the net just to know that it's not a usual ".apk" but a ".zip" file instead. All in my mind is change the extension from "application.zip" into "application.apk". Awrite,i got it renamed, and ran it. The installation shows a dialog and i installed it as usual. But in the end,the system told me that the installation is failed. How's that?
