Who is looking forward to the Xperia X10?

Postby X10 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 11:14 am

Okay, there are a few things we still don’t know about the handset, namely price and release date. The latter point makes a big difference, as if it does get released in February – who knows what other handsets will be announced/appear in the meantime!

However, to get this forum started, I thought I’d start a poll to find out how many are interested in the handset (as things stand).

Personally I'm very much looking forward to it. I know it'll be expensive but I'm very excited from what I've seen so far (especially as it will be the best Android imaging device on the market).

I'm am looking forward for the X10 to release as well, it's exiting what this new user interface would be able to do and how it would link everything that I do into one simple touch; however, I must point out that it'd be important for me to have it reviewed beforehand since even though it looks like the phone could do a lot of things brillianty and without fuss I've had experience where this was not delivered and certainly this is not good since our level of expectations is according to what has been promised.

Nonetheless, sometimes waiting so long for the phone builds up expectations higher than what was intended; therefore there may be a lot of exitement and thoughts on what the phone "could" deliver, but then again this could dissapoint us due to the "thought" of what this phone could do and not what initially was given as information what it could do

I'd definately think about the potential that this phone has and think that I'd really really really like to have it but first I'd need proof that the final product does deliver what IT (not my expectation) has promised to deliver.

As to price, I think if you're on contract with your current courier wouldn't differ that much since they would subsidise most/part of the cost of the phone regarding the price plan.... but again... that's only if you're with a monthly contract if not, then price would be a decision making factor

i seriously can't wait for this phone!

i'll be getting those wireless headphones too, they're apparently pretty good, and are designed to work with the x10.

I seriously hope they hurry up and release it, the waiting is getting ridiculous now!

hello guys
I Like Sony Ericsson system on phones too much
but i don't know about this Android
i have never tried OS mobile phones
in fact the most important part in mobile phones for me is their systems

I wonder if it would be released in middle east

i am looking forward for it
but i am afraid of the price
i think it will be so expensive since it is really a complete mobile phone

I am really looking forward to this phone, it really looks set to be one of the best phones this year

I really hope this phone is all that it says it is, because I love Sony Ericsson and their phones. I was originally going to get the Vivaz, but was put off that the touch screen wasn't that responsive and typing on the keyboard was fiddly, hope that won't happen with this phone :geek:

The only thing that concerns me is whether they will doing a bundle package to pay for all the media stuff e.g MMS, inernet usage, email etc. Just like they do with the Apple iPhone, where you pay monthly with that media package.

Because if you have to pay that stuff separately I will not be pleased.

I've been wanting a better phone than my iPAQ 910c for a while, but determined I needed one a month ago when using 3G data started killing the battery in 15 minutes or so.

After looking into the iPhone and various Android phones, the X10 appeals to me more than any other for the giant high-res screen, 8MP camera, and 1GHz Snapdragon. The styling is also far more to my preference than something like the Nexus One/HTC Desire, which doesn't hurt either. The fact that Rogers is to be offering the phone, meaning I can get it subsidized on a 3yr contract sealed the deal.

Now I find myself regularly surfing Twitter and the Web for any info on when I'll be able to pre-order it. I want it, and I'm impatient!

I was waiting for X10 , but I got upset when I read it would not support the multitouch function even after the update because of a hardware issue...... I'm really dissapointed

Well there are some flaws with the phone, but I have bit the bullet and ordered mine now.

There are still a lot of things going for this phone and I have faith in it.

Can't wait to get it

My brother does have iphone 3gs AND he has been using it for a while and from.what he sayz is the x10 is way faster when browising and its more bright he loves the camera on it.
(I am using my x10 to post this.msg as u can tell thers spelling mistakes and dots instead of spACe) i did this to show u how it is. I didnt edit anyithing and writing really fast:-\.

I also can’t wait to get my hands on a X10 (hopefully Monday or Tuesday), however I have one question that I can’t seem to get an answer for on the Internet or SonyEricsson at this stage, and that is how many email accounts I can configure on a X10 or Android 1.6 for that matter. And how many of these can be set for automatic download. On my Satio running Symbian S60 there does not seem to be a limited in the number of email addresses you can add, but you can only configure 2 of them to automatically download, which is a big problem for me as an IT Consultant having email accounts (POP3 and IMAP) with many of the companies I sub-contract for. The iPhone is limited to 10 email accounts and 5 can be set for automatic download, and I hope the Andriod does not have any limitations, but I have not seen any articles/posts that can clear this up for me and I don’t want to make the same mistake with the X10 as I did with the Satio. In addition to my 5+ POP3/IMAP accounts I also have an MS Exchange account and see that SE has partnered with Moxier for Exchange support.

Does anyone know how many POP3/IMAP email accounts I can configure on the X10 and set to automatically download/sync every 15/30/60 minutes in addition to my MS Exchange account?

Decided to change back to Vodafone after some years away and was offered the Xperia X10.

Due to arrive at the shop for collection around the 6th April. Been used to the Acer Smartphone and did like the slide out keypad but I an adaptable and if the virtual keyboard it is as good as the ipod touch then I'll be well chuffed.

I'll probably lurk until mine arrives then post an opinion.

Peter.
