FreeX10 Cyanogen Mod 7 (Gingerbread 2.3.2) by Team FreeX10 (

Well anybody who visits XDA will know that Jerpelea stopped Gingerbread 2.3.2 at version 17, it became stable enough to mod it into Cyanogen Mod 7 which is based on Gingerbread but let me tell you far better.
It's allot more stable than his most recent 2.3.2 v17 and still on works on the older baseband but nonetheless an amazing jump in productivity, the guy is a development god!
So I have downgraded my baseband and flashed this with xRecovery, I'm seriously impressed with the feel and quality if this ROM. Okay it's maybe not quite a stable as FreeX10 Froyo 2.2.1 and the camera isn't working, there are some codec issues atm so no working YouTube app but I can live with these issues for now and at the speed J is tweaking this ROM I wouldn't be surprised if these problems are sorted in a month or two.

Another poke in the eye for SE and one that should sting more than any other!

Here's to the FreeX10 Team of XDA and if coarse we wouldn't have this ROM if not for Cyanogen and the CyanogenMod Team.

This is an amazing ROM but it is just too unstable for daily use, I cannot get v003 or v004 to work on my X10 because of bootloops and v0005 is missing UI elements.
Hoping v006 when released will be better and can be used daily, going back to FreeX10 Froyo for now but hoping to be using CM7 again soon!

so Jayj,

is this the best mod to be using on the x10 right now? or which one is the best? I think I want to migrate off 2.1 for now. or should I go with the froyo build?

This Rom is brilliant however if you want stability then go for the froyo rom which at the moment has the lack of video recording imo. I used the froyo rom for a good while but had to come back to 2.1 due to video.

Yeah I agree with rkanwar, CM7 is amazing and when stable will most definitely be my ROM of choice but for now it's FreeX10 Froyo beta4.
The only issue with Froyo is the lack of a camcorder but it's easy enough to restore a backup of SE2.1 with xRecovery if you require video capturing.

Has anyone tried the new version that has come out? I would try it out but i have to change the baseband from 52 to 54 and i cant be bothered with that amount of effort if its rubbish, Does Froyo work on 54 baseband

I'm using this rom atm and it is brilliant just like Z's freex10 rom camera works perfect just the zoom now and the flash for camera

The camera works in CM7? Are you sure?

I'm using CM7 v0009 atm and my camera doesn't work, not even with Vignette.

This ROM is getting better but still not as stable as FreeX10 Froyo 2.2.1, I'm still getting WLOD (white LED od death) with browser and ocassional STRSC (safe to remove sdcard) reboots. These reboots are less frequent but still frustrating if you are using the phone heavily.

As stable as FreeX10 Froyo beta4 as that's what it's based on, I believe it's a cooked mixture of TripNraVer's CM6 and Zdzihu's Froyo so should be pretty stable.
I'm personally not keen on the framework despite the fact it's Gingerbread based which I love the GB framework but not keen on the other additions to the ROM so sticking with FreeX10 Froyo until Jerpelea's CM7 us more stable.

EDIT- Sorry crossed wires there, not the CM6 I thought!
Haven't tried this one, framework not my style and doesn't have much more to offer than FreeX10.

Im using CM 6.1.3 from Wolfbreak, it became very stable and is perfect for daily use, Im more than happy with it!!

But I'll try this one someday.

Guys, you know the bootloader is almost bypassed? Check xda

Lets hope with the bootloader bypassed we'll get a more stable CM7 with a custom kernel, can't wait!

hi peeps. let me just say now i am from the xda forum site and free x10 beta 4 is currently unstable. if you want a reliable ROM/MOD then use cyanogen6.1.3 gingerbread v01. i have been using this ROM for a while now and it is very stable and the camera and video camera works. just set the video camera to low res or it will just crash dont use high. also it works on the 2.1.54 baseband. also if you do use it give wolfbreak a big thanks for his hard work. THE ROM WILL REBOOT AFTER XRECOVERY AND WHEN GETS TO THE ANIMATION SCREEN IT WILL FREEZE FOR 10SECS AND THEN REBOOT AGAIN. DO NOT SWITCH PHONE OFF AFTER THAT REBOOT OR YOU WILL LOSE USAGE OF THE SD CARD AND HAVE LAUNCHER FORCE CLOSE.
