Tried a few things for upgrading, help!

Postby DistrictWolf » Thu Apr 21, 2011 5:41 am

I tried debranding, I tried flashing to generic north american 2.1 fw, I tried rooting with the super one click program. Nothing worked. The progams wouldn't proceed for flashing and rooting, and when trying to debrand, the files I am supposed to rename in the update service folder or the pc companion folder aren't there (blob). Does anyone have a fool proof way to update my android?

Go to XDA. Download the Flashtool 0.2.9.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... =flashtool

You can use this tool to root, install xRecovery (if you need), flash firmware, install JIT and lot more.

In the same post you can also find the Generic X10a or X10i firmware and the instructions also can be found in there.

Hope this helps.

I had already downloaded the flash tool from xda, It stops before flashing, even after i turn on debugging. i was using the newest (beta) version, so i'll try it again this weekend using the other version. What is xRecovery and JIT?

Honestly flashtool is so easy to use, not sure but I think there's a guide on here somewhere?

If there's not a guide on here then there is in the Flashtool thread at XDA!

did u check to see if ur computer is recognizing ur device, u may not have the proper drivers..this happened to me before...i uninstalled seus and pc companion... then i reinstalled them, connnected my phone via usb and mounted it to make sure pc comp. recognized it...leave pc comp running in the background and run seus, then go thru the prompts, select device etc... when u get to the part where u can repair ur device, disconnect ur x10, usb cable from computer and from x10...turn off x10, pull battery out,*DO NOT PLACE BATTERY BACK IN* now connect usb cable to computer next connect the micro usb to ur x10...then hold the BACK button, while holding the back button.. pop in the battery and the led lite should stay green! u should be able to repair ur device, now once you have done that , u can use the same battery technique to connect using any flashtool..good luck
