Photo as wallpaper

I am having a problem in keeping a clicked picture as my wallpaper. After cropping the photo its still looking enlarged. Is not there any way to keep the original picture as my wall paper without cropping?

Drag the crop box vertically, that way you won't run out of responsive screen before the box is fully extended.

It seems to me like the picture isn't blown up but the quality does seem to be reduced, particularly if there is broad color variation in the photo.
