Have a look at CoPilot Live. It's not free but meant to be quite good.

When using copilot, are the downloaded maps stored on the phone or sd card?

SD card, i like to say, just checked out and saw my map saved in a "save folder" in the CoPilot on the SD card :)

Just download CoPilot Live for free here ;)
then turn of Data/MMS and activate WiFi and download (maps may be large in MB)

Thanks heaps zleepy,

I've been using this for the last few weeks in New Zealand and its great. I even have a tom tom and prefer co-pilot to it. So great to have an all in one device :) one thing I did notice is that a one of the maps for Hamilton (don't expect anyone to know where this is) is a bit out of date so could be a problem elsewhere. But still I cant complain when its totally FREE!!!!

zleepy/anyone, do you know if updating co-pilot - the software not maps - (over wifi on the phone) works when there is an avaliable update? Will it lock me out if I update as it was free?

Also, does it notify you when a map update is avalaible?

Cheers

No problem :D

You can update your program w/o a problem, or at least i could when i installed it and it had a update :)
still works, the maps i'm not sure of, dont think that it will tell you if a new map is available, guess you will have to check their homepage or just try downloading it
from the server with your phone... :)

Hi all, new x10mini user here... upgraded from a W890i last week so just getting to grips with the phone.

I've downloaded the copilot software from Zleepy's link in the x10 forum but couldn't download the maps... trying to get the UK maps. has the "bug" been fixed at their end meaning I have to pay for maps now or is there a way of working round this.

I don't mind paying if it works but I wouldn't mind trying before buying to be honest

Google Maps Navigation is your best bet I've found, certainly better than Orange Maps and the "WisePilot" that came on the phone. Plus its easier to find places if you dont know the postcode, as it just google searches the destination and gives you a list of matches ;)

try motonav, its kinda laggy at spots but it has a better database then copilot. Idk copilot in north America especially Canada sucks.
