Task Killers...

Postby BobbleX10 » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:21 pm

I know a lot of people have there own oppinions when it comes to the use of the task killers...

I have just uninstalled Advanced Task Killer as I haven't really seen much improvement with the battery life.
All this app has given me is an obsessive compulsive disorder which means everytime I have finished with a game or app, I open up the task killer to check what is running and kill everything!

I have cut the strings...
Now I have uninstalled it, I will see if I have a nervous breakdown at the thought of everything running in the background! :o :?

I have recently installed HelixLauncher too, which I think is awesome, has made the phone even better on the eye and even easier to use!

Rock on the X10!!! :D  :D

Will post my conclusion after a few days or so of monitoring my battery life and charge frequency!

Yup join the club, task killers set on autokill is a waste. All I use is AppControl to close certain apps. Overall there has been a battery increase for me, and common apps open quickly. Also try ADW.

Well, im impressed so far.
Gave the phone a full charge last night...
Been using it on and off all day and the battery is still sitting pretty at 83%
Loving helix, prefer the look and layout of everything now!

OK, so I am still using Helix as my battery life has been brilliant since I started using it.
However, I have re-installed Advance Task Killer!
I do not run it continuously, just open it up every now and then to kill apps that are running if the phone starts lagging.
Only been like it for 12 hours or so but looking good so far!

Battery life has improved and with the intermitant use of ATK the phones performance is at it's best to date!
Winning combination found me thinks!

i use Home++ ( http://hpp.intuitit.mobi/ ) and no taskkillers, even if my phone is online for 100hours it dont lag..
but it did almost évery hour when i used taskkillers :) dont understand ppl's need to kill apps, that dont run unless the phone's app is updating it's status or other :)

I had exactly the same problem as Zleepy, when I used task killers it caused my phone to lag severely to the point I couldn't even make a call as out would just freeze up. I could see with an app in my notification bar that the CPU had maxxed out and would not lower so I'd killer some app or process to try to resolve this but it would just make it worse.
Now I've stopped using them and I do not have these problems with my X10, I do use an app called "Quick Exit" to close those apps that don't have an exit button and stay active if not closed properly. When using an app I just pull the notification bar down and there it is, tap it and it closes that app.
